Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan announced the results of an internal investigation involving ten Tampa police officers that ultimately resulted in the termination of three police officers.
These are the types of officers you'd wish you could meet... The ones that use their discretion wisely and don't charge people with b.s. like weed because there actually are bigger fish to fry. The cameras being off is obviously a huge deal but the weed stuff was a GOOD thing Chief.
That's why they were let go. The chief doesn't want cops who use their discretion to be kinder to the public. They want the ones who fish for any minor "crime" to destroy people's lives. The ones that terrorise the public are almost never fired.
Does the chief himself wear a bodycam? Or keep one running in his city issued car? Does he keep the camera rolling in his office? He’s guilty of the same X100. Transparency doesn’t have levels. These officers did what they have been taught to do by the practice of their supervisors on every level.
Give officers a camera battery that will last the scheduled entire shift, and make it so the cameras CAN NOT be turn off by the officer. That camera should be recording at all times during their shift. It should only be allowed to turn on once and turn off once during a scheduled time frame (work shift). And if the battery can't be expanded, then give officers 2 cameras with the same on/off limitations. That should solve this type of problem going forward.
Cops always find away around the body camera. For example the Baltimore cops who put their cameras on in a way that they would fall off once engaged. Didn't take cause sheriff my camera tell off , not my fault!
They have to be held accountable for everybody else JUSTICE..but firing them for not arresting people with stupid cannabis ..y'all need to investigate the bad officers
++They may not have bought the tank. Where I live the feds gave the sheriff an armored personnel carrier. I have asked those I have heard calling it a tank to stop. We don't want to give the feds ideas. The feds have thousands of surplus tanks stored in the desert. I would prefer that they not be given to the cops.
Makes me laugh when someone walks in building with camera then occifers etc pounce on em and say turn if camera but above their heads are establishment cameras espec in courts lol lol
How does a police Dept have a brand? Is that like a gang? They were taking the weed and disposing it but not arresting. Why, because it should not be illegal in the first place.

You feel like these cops were dirty because they threw a joint out the window. They made more good arrest where large sums of dope was found. The two hours that it takes to lock somebody up for a joint isn’t worth it.
The same people applauding these treminations....will cry when cops no longer tell you to fump your alcohol and be on your way. Now...everyone gets cited or arrested.
How can you have a press conference in this day and age where the media Still doesn’t have the intelligence to mike up the questions raised from the crowd? So you have a police chief answering a question that isn’t clear if he in fact IS answering the media question. This problem is endemic in most press conferences.
Officers cameras should be on all the time. This is a stupid case. Sometimes an officer let someoneone go after getting caught with marijuana because they looking to get closer to information of bigger crimes
Tell me this Chief. If you have a BWC why does Any officer have the option to disable or manipulate the camera in the first place. Any manipulation is Tampering with evidence. We don’t have enough money to justify catching our officers violating your rights. Really?? How about letting a independent agency access your budget?
Some of y'all didn't pay attention to the video. They were fired because they didn't arrest people for small marijuana offenses. Y'all act like they were beating people.
Why arrest people when your court system will just turn them loose with a slap on the hand. The justice system is a joke. I would have just let the criminals keep their dope since it’s not worth the paperwork.
How about we don't have a police force at all and people have the balls to handle their own problems - preferably peacefully but violently if necessary - instead of calling "daddy" police officer to come resolve every issue they have in their day to day lives. #PeacefulAnarchistMovement

Yesterday going to work i saw angry black people with guns everywhere and cops arresting or chasing criminals. I also saw officer arresting a black guy knee on his neck. I saw it!! could not believed. Police needs to stop that shit

You might have terminated them but did you go after their badge no matter where they go they’re going to do the same thing take there qualified immunity and their badge
I wear a body camera that runs non-stop from the minute I leave the house until l return at night. They {l use 2-3 body cameras} record everything - eating, toilet, etc - but never off (off & mute functions disabled). Why not the same for Pigs/Cops/Plod? And States should have video Departments who should archive all videos and full control of them.
So much money wasted training these people only for them to disregard that training. It's good to do a regular clean-out of these wannabees. I hear Dunkin Donuts is hiring.
