I've seen the Boss one out in the wild. In a musical instruments store to be exact. It was the orange DS-1 version, modeled after their iconic distortion box. The manager always jokingly said that being a mouse was the best use of the DS-1 since he found it a bit of a shitty sounding distortion.

DS-1 could sound good with a good tube amp and proper settings, but yeah it was kinda empty and fizzy sounding and there were better ones like Proco RAT or SansAMP with more amp-like sound. The DS-1 was pretty good base for modding to remove it's flaws. Also the built quality of BOSS effects pedals was very good and they became a standard on stage. I remember times when even the shittiest guitar effects were really expensive. Now we can buy top notch studio quality sounding pedals even for $20 with die cast metal case and durable metal footswitch. Many of them are based on high-end pedals that are sounding very close to the originals. BTW, having a mouse that looks like a guitar stompbox is quite weird idea...

I had some Star Trek: TNG computer accessories, but none of the ones pictured on the package in this video. There was a shuttlecraft floppy disk holder, which for some reason was blue. It was just a solid piece with a square hole cut out in the top, without any sort of lid. There was also a keyboard and a "monitor mask", both of which were also blue. The "monitor mask" was basically a plastic picture frame that you would put on your CRT monitor. IIRC, it was too small for the monitor we had at the time. I am in awe with all the old video game stuff you have. I am a kid and have a small video game collection of nes, snes, genesis, and pc games. I wish I had the money to own all this stuff. 🤣

This is a treat! The Trek culture references, and the odd Star wars One, and then the mayhem and the 16+ gore on the preschool kids mouse! Awesome end to a great year!

What's funny about that Star Trek mouse is that the Type 1 wasn't even seen that often in TNG - usually it was the larger, "TV remote" Type 2.

Man, that Boss pedal is awesome! I might have to grab one! Looks like it’s about 120-150 on eBay if you’re curious. I just wish the pedal was mouse 1 :/

I was expecting a JHS style “He’s got the box!” Bumper with that Boss-mouse 😅

If Josh doesn't already have one, he's about to buy it, then it will show up in a JHS vid and their prices will skyrocket...

I spent so many hours of my childhood playing star trek voyager elite force!! Haha! I figured out you could one hit kill the hirogen boss by hitting him with the tranquilizer hypo spray (I'm still very proud of figuring that one out)

I just found your other weird mice video recently and this one popped up in my suggested and I didn't even notice the "new" tag. So I thought this was another one I had just missed, but then I realized you uploaded this today!! Love these weird mice videos. They're so funny.

First of all, thanks for many years of great content! Happy 2022! I would love to see more strange mice and maybe even a full weird setup for gaming: crazy mouse, strange monitor, odd keyboard, and so on. Something like a Chimera computer, with a bunch of crazy peripherals being used together. I think it would be hilarious to see you put it together and play some games. Thanks again and cheers from Brazil!

That Boss mouse is boss! They should make their entire pedal lineup available as mice so I can hook all of them up simultaneously in a chain like guitar!
