I found this looking for the Solo by Canadian Electra Meccanica, which is being sold in LA now. This looks much more practical. Both should be cool for $10K-$15K. I'm in.
The front end looks pretty sleek but I'm nor sold on the one rear wheel. The Polaris Slingshot has a modification to turn it into a 4 wheeler, if I could do the same with this then I'd be more open to it.
And then all media went silent about this vehicle. They took thousands of pre-orders. Where is it? Can't find any article or video more recent than 9 months ago, which is before the April 2019 announced release date.
Very stylish exterior design, I'm less enthousiastic about the interior frankly. Also wonder about rear visibility, stability in curbes, especially when it is raining. I don't believe however this will be sold for only 10 000 $, unless it is withour airco, just one seat and in cheaper white paint.
Produce it and I will But will have to shipped over to Australia. I still can't find much detail on this vehicle. 5 years is a long time to go without update....
Great car for those who live in a place where insurance on motorcycles (because this car is classified as such) is not required. For everyone else, insurance companies are going to burst the 'its cheaper than a gas car long term' bubble of excitement.
If it’s front wheel drive, it won’t be able to qualify as a motorcycle. A motorcycle must have one driven wheel. If this has two, it will qualify as a car
Not true at all. It depends on the state. Each state in the US has different laws on what is a motorcycle and what is an autocycle. In fact, Vanderhalls and the Mash are 3 wheeled and classified as motorcycles.
I would strip the third wheel off and make into a 4 wheeled vehicle with exposed wheels in the back tire covers to match the front id add a spoiler and maybe swap the motor out with maybe a Tesla motor and I think it would be a pretty fun and cheap build for a race car 🏎
By changing it to a 4 wheeled vehicle and dropping a motor that is significantly heavier, with no room for batteries other than the pack it has, and adding a spoiler to something that is already slipstreamed, you mess up the rolling resistance, the aerodynamic profile and subsequently significantly reduce your range. (200 something to like 50 miles if that.) But it sure would be fun for the 10 minutes you'd run for.
I would get the 200 mile version ... Then I would get rid of the back seat entirely and add an auxiliary battery pack for hopefully 300+ range. I would like to get one for long distance travels.
a car classified as a motorcycle. the government will pay 10,000, towards your purchase of an electric vehicle, 12,000 if its made in the USA. the thing i want to know is, is mislabeling this as a motorcycle instead of a car going to mean that its not eligible for the government money? I don't want to burn gasoline. I want to be part of the solution, but i need to know, does calling this a motorcycle the government won't pay for it?
Hi these are all cool cars but I came to this channel to ask a big question. My mom saw a car on the road (we live in USA) and saw a Renault duster from New Mexico. And she asked me what it is because I’m so interested in cars. After a lot of research I still cannot find how we can get one in the USA. Can you guys help me 🤷🏻♂️
Ever since the Elio fiasco I also tend to be reminded of the Dale when I see these autocycles from start-up companies. I'd like this to come to market if it's real but that phrase "if it's real" is a pretty big if isn't it? -_-
Do a search For the Élio motor. Many people like myself lost their money with the faulty promises of getting 80 miles per gallon. The only thing they did is switch it from gas to electric. Probably the same people or they are connected. Maybe they need to refund my $1200 deposit.
FINANCING FINANCING FINANCING FINANCING FINANCING FINANCING I'm from the generation that finances their rides and I WANT TO FINANCE THIS THING.... Let's go Sondors... middle agers still count in today's world !!! I don't want to order online... I want to purchase this car through financing. Not everyone who wants this is a flippin' millennial !!!
Anyone who thinks $10000 for a car like this is alot of money drives a fucking bicycle. I would buy 2 of them at this price... I think its great although i dont think he will be able to sell them at this price..more realistically ...closer to $15000
Credit card companies will usually have your back in a dispute with a merchant. So if the car doesn't show up, file a claim with your card provider. Now if the car turns out to be a piece of junk, then you may have some protection in the form of "Lemon Laws".
