This reminds me of a lady in diaspora who used to send money to her parents in Kenya to build her a house. Picha ya land na nyumba alikua anatumiwa but when she finally landed in kenya, sema machos!! dealing with real estate developers is like "pata Potea" especially coz they insist you have to pay all monies directly to them. There can never be enough due diligence. Everything always looks good on paper concerning the property, but unfortunately, we cannot do DD on individuals' intentions, when greed sets in, innocent investors' hard-earned money goes down the drain.

This story traumatizes me because I have had my share of this pain, infact hawa wanakupatia mpaka title deed then, when I decide to do some valuation of the same property from the companies that understand that area nikapata ile value nililipa is 15times more than the actual cost kwa ground.....saying I was broken is an understatement.

I thank God for my cousin. When the time came for me to buy a land he really helped me. We got it directly from his friend at a price lower than it’s value. That was my first investment.
