Ahead of their first Melbourne show in ten years, we sat down with half of post-hardcore legends Thrice to chat about their return from hiatus, signature gear, the woes of writing a set list and their new record Palms.
This band is the best band that ever existed. They dont know it, almost noone on Earth knows it - but if you take the time to discover their discography you will experience an absolutely (!) unique band that it is so so good in so much of what they do. Thank you Thrice, love you! :)
I was going to say yeah, right here guy, I know it. First song I ever herd to awake and avenge the dead hit me like a ton of bricks. Ever since, even the songs that don’t hit me right away, usually are the ones that hit me the hardest later and then forever.
Really cool interview. Loved thrice in high school when identity crisis came out, and the albums just got better. It’s really awesome to see them evolve as a band and how different their sound is from early 2000’s to now. And it was also cool that the interviewer mentioned poison the well, another favorite band of mine if not my all time favourite!
I’ve been a fan a long time now. Haven’t watched a Thrice interview in a while. Dustin seems to be a bit different. Like I can see and hear a drastic difference in personality lately.
i think it has to do with being a bit more open minded and critical of Christianity as hes gotten older. not saying hes lost his faith or anything but i think thats whats made him a bit different.
