Wow! Becky, You took me down memory lane today! (I'm 20 yrs. older than you...) We had those exact yellow curtains when I was a teenager! The bunny and egg came out fantastic! And the lamp without the shade that you didn't get would have look great with your big sunburst that David doesn't like....... and here in southern New Jersey, our Goodwill is AWFUL! I'm not really looking for anything when I go but I love seeing all the great things you find!
I'm just a tad older than you (my oldest is 47), but I do enjoy your videos. I still have those same floral napkins. They were part of napkin/placemat set I received as a wedding gift over 50 years ago.❤
P.s.duncan enterprises was a ceramic company. Don't know if it's still in business , but that is a hobbyist piece and Duncan the name on the mold no doubt.
Oh Becky I Love the new Lamp. I knew you would buy those pwls. That bunny you painted is so Adorable. You got some nice treasures. I love where their new home is. Thank you for sharing this video with us. So until next time God Bless you and your family and have a Blessed evening and stay safe my dear and Special Friends. ❤❤❤
What a fun and wonderful thrifting trip!! Becky, you found some awesome items. Oh my goodness, I love those sunflower dishes. I would not have had the strength to leave them behind. God Bless You and Your Family!!!
The new lamp is so beautiful. It may be brighter, but it gives such a warm and cozy glow. The bunny came out so cute and your Easter vignettes are sweet.
I loved those sunflower dishes. Holy cow, I would not have had the strength to leave those behind. 😂 I like the new lamp better than the old one. It’s perfect for your living room. ❤
Did I see orange enamelware??😱 And those painted carolers at the first Goodwill brought back some memories. My mom painted that same piece in the late 80s. Your bunny turned out so cute. I would have completely passed on it because it looked gross. And what a gem I would have missed out on. Great finds!
I love the new lamp and that shade is so unique and vintage looking, love it. I think that painted glass plate is so very special, someone took a lot of time to paint that and the picture is beautiful!
Thanks Vickie. Yes, it was my fault, I originally thought that the staples came loose and caused it to fall but after looking closer David found that it was from me not anchoring my screws in.
The new lamp is really pretty Becky, looks good there. Those curtains would make a pretty spring Apron. The little bunny needed that love. Very cute. Thanks for taking us along.
What fun treasures you have found! The lamp is very similar to a couple that my in-laws gave me. They bought them when they were married in 1953! But they didn’t have a cool lampshade 😁 I also loved the way you displayed the plate in the new basket. Very clever! I love all of your crafting and decorating videos!
Hi Becky Your hair looks nice. You got some good finds. The bunny turned out really cute. The lamp was a great find perfect in your room. I like how you styled it. Thank you for sharing. God Bless ❤❤❤
Yesss my daughter and I Said the same! Clothes so high used in our local thrifts and could buy new, like Walmart for less! Also just general thrifing is so high and makes me mad because these things are donated, which they tend to forge5 when pricing!
The prices in central Ca thrift stores have gone up too. When the prices were low the resellers would stalk the thrift stores n they would benefit. In a way, I prefer my money go to the thrift stores. I often donate items to thrift stores and it makes me happy to support their programs in a small way. I like deals just like everyone else but it is hard to find cheap items. Tfs ❤️
Becky, if you have an old time pottery close to you, you can find a lot of gold items to decorate with for the wedding. That’s what my sister and I did for my nieces wedding. Turned out gorgeous.
Hi friend, the plate in the basket looks very nice on the wall in your guest bath. Beautiful hand painted plate. Really nice find with the fabric. Really cut owl figurine. The new lamp looks great. The bunny is so cute
So true what you said about the thrift stores the thing is they are using Google lens to search donated items and when they find a listing they mark it up for a crazy price they dont look to see what it' actuallyb sold for you're right they have sucked the joy out of the little thrift finds we used to enjoy 😢
What a fun thrifting trip and oh my goodness, those sunflower dishes! You showed great restraint for sure Becky! lol What a beautiful lamp, it's just gorgeous in its forever home and I agree the hand painted plate is so beautiful and it looks great where you placed it! The bunny and egg is adorable and you did a wonderful job giving it a makeover and it looks so cute in your kitchen. The tray and owls are really cute too. The tray really cleaned up nicely and looks great in the little vignette where you put it, and you also found a great home for the owls! I love what you did with the basket, it's beautiful! You did wonderful with your thrifting outing, and you are so talented with how you decorated with it all! What a great video, thank you! 🌻🐰❤🦉🌻
When I saw the lamp that you brought home, I thought if she doesn’t pick that up I will be beside myself because that is so you. I love the lamp♥️♥️♥️♥️. The plate I felt the same way that you had to have it. Looks great in your home. I would have picked up the plate myself it is gorgeous. Absolutely adorable bunny so glad you fixed him. Cute makeover on the bunny!! You found some awesome items. Thank you for sharing.♥️! Bar Keepers Friend is awesome!!!! God bless and have a great evening…..🍃🌷🍃
You found some nice things, and the new lamp looks great. I would never have thought to re-do the bunny, but she looks so cute now. I'm in SC and I always felt like the NC Goodwills would be better....I guess the grass is always greener! Happy Easter to you and your family!
I think it depends on the workers, some of the stores just don't have enough help to get all the items out. I always notice piles and piles of things in the back just waiting to get put out. Also, SC does in my opinion seem to hire people more resembling their "mission". They will hire those with disabilities that might not be chosen for hire at another job which I think the only thing they have going for them seeing as they have everything donated to them and they are 100 percent for profit.
Love the lamp. My mom had a lampshade like that when I was younger. The bunny looks so cute with her make over. You always find the nicest things. Our Goodwill is so expensive now. No longer have the color of the day. So frustrating.
Hi Becky! I really like the new lamp in the living room. It blends really well with your decor. I love the bunny makeover, and your hair looks different? It’s a good different though… shorter maybe? You are so creative!💕
I like the new lamp, and of course the bunnies...some white chalk paint is always good for projects like the repurposing , as the paint sticks to most surfaces. always enjoy watching you. thanks for the ride.. when did you get your hair cut....I think I like it
That lamp is totally you!!! I generally buy lamps without shades since my thrift stores just put random shades on them anyways. I've had great success finding shades at Lamps Plus for reasonable prices. (And you could make aprons with the curtains!)
That's exactly what I am going to do. I was a little shocked at the price of the patterns at hobby lobby. I had to leave them behind. I think I can come up with my own pattern or try to find one at Joann's on sale.
Hi Becky, thanks for sharing your treasure hunt. The curtains are just so pretty, I know you will find just the perfect way to use them...could the fabric be made into a runner for your table?? The bunny looks so much better and is perfect where you placed it. Bar Keepers Friend is amazing...I buy the soft cleanser as I tend to have a heavy hand. Have a wonderful weekend.
You have such a great imagination. I love how you transform things. That bunny turned out so adorable. I would never have thought to do something like that. What paints do you use? Also, I see you got a new haircut. You are so pretty. Thanks for sharing and when I watch you I feel like I am watching a good friend. ❤ PS think about battery candles for the wedding, a lot of venues don't allow real candles for fire safety reasons, they last a long time too.
Thank you Margaret, you are right about the candles. I had not even thought about that. For the bunny I just used regular acrylic craft paint and I put a coat of sealant over the top when I was done.
That's awesome Joann! The last time I went to Charleston it was so crowded we had to turn around and come back home. I would like to try again one day maybe in the winter.
