Now you are just taunting me😂😂😂😂. I made your tree three times because my daughters “stole” the first two, I even made your skinny bench a few times, which I love, but I’m no spring chicken so a total bathroom renovation is out of the question🤪. All I can say is wow…you did an amazing job, and what a beautiful transformation. That just increased the value of your home👍🥰.
Oh my goodness, that is so funny!! 😂 You are the DIY tree expert at this point, haha You should do your own video about it, you have more experience than me at this point. I hope the skinny benches turned out well. Thank you for your support, I really appreciate you watching! ☺️
Wow Best Bathroom on a budget I’ve seen… Great explanation on the DIY’s. 🙌🏻 It turned out beautifully. Thank you for sharing! Gave me much needed inspiration to tackle my small upstairs bathroom.
Thanks so much! 😊 I hope your refresh turns out great! Will you perhaps be redoing cabinets and counters or just decor? I am also working on our guest bathroom and I have a lovely new shower curtain rod I need to install and a new extra long curtain on the way. I can't wait to get them up. 😌
Love this transformation. Truly beautiful on a budget. I love learning new pain techniques since replacing cabinets can be very expensive. A new coat of paint can give cabinets many more years of life. I’d suggest just buying new faucets. Changing our small, bathroom, faucets is cheap and easy to do yourself. You’re spending almost as much on spray paint and brushes.
How wonderful to transform your space this way. I’m always so in awe of taking, to me, huge risks with something like the countertops and they always turn out great ❤ You did a beautiful job marrying the dated tub with your new aesthetic 💕
WOW!! What a tremendous difference! It's amazing you pulled that off by just changing the finishes on everything - no replacements, other than decor. Great job!! ❤
Thanks so much! Our cabinets in the kitchen are the same as the bathrooms were, and I can't wait to show you guys the difference in the kitchen once the cabinets and countertops are done 😍
Oh my word! What a great job! And how well you explained it. You really have polished speaking skills and teaching abilities! I don’t know how to do anything. Ha ha. Literally a late-in-life decorator and thrifter. About to hang my first curtains (usually just use valances and blinds). Learning so much from you!
Thank you! I really appreciate it 😊 What a momentous step to hang your first curtains! I love that. I just really began learning about decorating maybe 2 years ago and I have learned so much.
Hi Tasha ❤, well...I hate my bathroom...and I hate it even more now that I have seen yours!!!! BUT, you have inspired me AGAIN to do freshening up. Thank you for sharing your bathroom journey with us and very well done xxxxx
You're so brave! I couldn't ever do this ! I would have done black cabinets with brass hardware and nothing more 😁 because I'm probably lazy and for sure not so skilled. Sorry if I misspelled, ❤ from Romania!
That sounds lovely too! 🤩 I like to change things up every once in awhile anyway so I could totally see doing black cabinets later on. The only thing is I have heard that they are hard to keep clean looking 🤔
Hi Tasha, The bathroom came out great! I am dying to find a tyme topiary like you showed today. I searched Amazon and couldn’t find anything. Is yours real or faux? If you could possibly link it, I would really appreciate it! I love your content and enjoy watching and learning every Tuesday. Thanks!
Whoops I knew I was leaving something out of the links! Yes of course, I added it just now, and here it is too. There is one in the "used, very good" section right now for $12 less too! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084LLN2N3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Really beautiful makeover, Tasha! I do hope you are proud of yourself. ❤ My master bath has oak cabinets and oak floors, it's killing me! I'm too busy working on the rest of the things. Awesome inspo with the SW color! Thank you for taking the time and sharing the updates.
Wow it all turned out beautiful. We used a product like that on our tile & tub but we bought a new counter & sink combo. But now I see how awesome your counter came out I may do my son’s counter instead of buying a new one which gets expensive. Great job
Thank you! It's a great product and you can definitely sand it to a smoother finish than I did, but I kind of like the orange peel texture on it. It just feels good under the hand so I decided to stop there. I like the organic kind of feel of it. It was fun to do! And I have used a tile and tub product on my utility sink in the laundry room with great results as well as the whole backsplash in our kitchen, which was originally when we moved in a brown and tan checkered pattern. And the worst part was the backsplash continues all the way up to the ceiling throughout the kitchen. Paired with dark brown cabinets and orangey brown speckled granite... Oh boy. I couldn't live with it so I immediately painted the backsplash tile white. 😋
I used that counter product in my mother's kitchen pre-covid and it's still holding up!! Her kitchen gets some serious use! Also used it in a rental property. It's much easier to use than some other products.
That's great to hear! It seems very durable and as I said after talking to Sarah (the blogger) and hearing her tell me how it's held up, I wasn't worried on that front. I also found it pretty easy to do which was great!
Your bathroom vanity re-do is outstanding! I just want to paint my vanity a new color, but I'm afraid it will look streaky or bad. I also love all of your tips for making or purchasing dupes! Keep all of the videos coming! Great job again! The bathroom decor also looks lovely. 😊
Are you planning on replacing the sink stoppers with black ones? Not totally necessary, the counter looks great but it would just be a finishing touch. Word of caution, if you do don’t get nail polish remover on them 😧
I may! I did in our guest bath but haven't yet in here. You're right, it's the small things ☺️ You're also right that nail polish remover is dangerous to painted things haha, high performance enamel or not!
Sooo pretty! You did a great job! ❤ Love the calming neutrals. I did a small cabinet with a very similar technique, but want to try the antler velvet color paint in place of the tan color I used. Mine had too much pink in it.
Thank you! 😊 Yes I agonized over which base color to use haha. I saw someone use this color and thought it looked perfect, plus I prefer SW colors, and it worked out great :)
Stunning! What a wonderful transformation. Curious to hear how the finish on countertop holds up over time. Also the fixtures, been wondering about the effectiveness of that self etching primer. Thank you for the inspiration ❤
I have high hopes for the countertop based on reviews from others. And as for the faucets I did this to my guest bath about two months ago. No chips yet, although I know that is still not too long. :) Thank you!
The faucets in my bathroom are so disgusting. I love what you did with the spray paints. How is it holding up? Do they chip off or wear off? I'd love to do the same on my faucets.
I did the same thing in our guest bathroom to the faucet and it's been that way for about 2 months with no problem so far. The spray enamel is pretty tough stuff. I think it's definitely possible to chip it, but with simple wiping to clean etc, I think it should be pretty tough for a good while.
The cabinets turned out amazing, you done a wonderful job. I want to do the countertops in my kitchen but I’m worried about the amount of dust I’ll clean up after sanding in there.😢
Thank you! You can hook your sander to your vacuum hose which helps a LOT. I am doing the kitchen now with a different Daich set (LuxRock) and it was a gamechanger to hook it to the vacuum. I used some duct tape and just taped the hose onto the back of the orbital sander.
Ong! I had the same exact bathroom and did similar updates a few years ago. Your updates turned out great! I had a plumber replace my faucets but wish I had tried your technique first to save some money. I painted my cabinets navy blue which toned down the peachy color look of the counters and made them look more of a neutral beige color.
I love your effortless style and this diy - it looks new and bright and well put together. Thank you for the step by step instructions, if I ever renovate a bathroom I’ll look back to this video to copy what you’ve done
Yes I do! We painted our whole house before moving in. That bathroom was initially dark gray :/ We used Pure White by Sherwin Williams. It's a great neutral white with no undertones either way. Highly recommend :)
Love the painted handles, how does the paint hold up being around water wiping it down? I would love to finish my kitchen countertops like that also. Is it a rough finish, hard to wipe down?
So far so good. I have my guest bath faucet painted like this for about two months now with no problems. You could probably also do some sort of clear top coat to make it even stronger. As for the countertops no they aren't rough. They are bumpy like an orange peel but feel smooth if that makes sense. Just like an orange! It's bumpy but not rough or scratchy. I don't think it will be hard to clean since it's not like they are deep grooves. You can also opt for a different Daich kit called LuxRock--which I am actually applying in my kitchen as we speak--that is a smooth finish granite. It has an epoxy and topcoat over it that make it totally smooth. Check it out here: www.lowes.com/pd/Daich-Countertop-Finishing-Kit-LuxRock-Platinum-White-Stone-Semi-gloss-Countertop-Refinishing-Kit-Kit/5013366547
Thank you! 😊 I'm glad it turned out okay! I practiced the paint technique on a scrap first but was a little nervous about the counter to be honest. However, it was so easy and came out good! I'm glad I went for it.
Their Spreadstone kit (this kind) are all full of stones. However, they have a kit called LuxRock that creates a granite with a totally smooth top. I am actually using it in my kitchen right now and am about halfway through. Then once I finish my cabinets I will do a kitchen episode. That kit is linked here: www.lowes.com/pd/Daich-Countertop-Finishing-Kit-LuxRock-Platinum-White-Stone-Semi-gloss-Countertop-Refinishing-Kit-Kit/5013366547
Thanks! It's from an Etsy shop called North prints. You buy the digital file and then print it elsewhere. I printed this one at my local CVS. Here's the link! www.etsy.com/listing/1168876929/neutral-tapestry-wall-art-vintage?ref=share_v4_lx
I have! But it continues all around the shower too so it's a big decision. Lots of tile refinishing kits are just white or maybe off white, and I can't commit 😋
Wow it looks fabulous!! I know it was a lot of work, but the result is so worth it. I couldn't and wouldn't want to do it, but I liked watching it get done...lol
Hi Tasha..Well if I was amazed at you before, I am super amazed at how you updated your bathroom. I wondered if your husband ever questions you when ypu start a project that big. I dont know if you watched a video or how you figured exactly what brush to use and even a whisk broom. Tasha, you should always be so proud of yourself. I change our house all the time by switching out decor, or making pillows, but never have I done a project like that. Who knows maybe you have given me the courage to try. I am doing a Tasha like redo in our spare bedroom. I have had bright colors in there, but I am getting ready to do a more monochromatic look with neutrals and adding a really pretty rug with some turquoise that I got for a great price at Big Lots. ( it' the style like your bathroom rug..muted ) The decor, pictures etc will be thrifted finds. Thanks Tasha...always so good to "see" and your amazing redos.
I let my husband know what I am planning to do and he usually doesn't mind. If I need help, he helps, but if I can do it alone I like to just go for it while he's at work. If you already dislike what's there, to me there isn't too much risk. I guess it can get worse but usually things turn out pretty good if you do your research first. I saw several blogs/videos that showed this technique (it is not my original idea for sure) and tried it out first on a scrap wood and then went for it when I saw that it worked well and was easy to replicate. I may tackle the tub and shower at some point before long too. If nothing else I could use a tub & tile kit to make it solid white or off white--I know those work well because I have used one on our utility sink plus the backsplash tile in our kitchen, which was checkered brown when we moved in--and not in the trendy way--very ugly! But I don't know that I want that much white, and also the tub/shower in there don't bother me much so I'm not in a rush. Your guest room makeover sounds great! I actually do like lots of color but I have discovered I like it more in pictures than in my own house where I spend so much time. I like it to be calmer and more relaxed feeling. But I do love color and wear bright colors a lot! Thank you for watching as always, my friend :)
Yes, absolutely. The blogger Sarah that I contacted had used it on her kitchen and was saying it has held up great over the past few years (with 7 people in her home). I am actually using a different Daich kit (LuxRock) on my kitchen and will show y'all that soon too!
I used what I had on hand that was very similar to the grit they provided. So they provided I think maybe 120 and 180... So I think I used 150 and 200? They had you start with the lower one and then go over it with the finer one. So that's the same thing I did just with slightly different grit numbers.
No, not rough at all. It's like an orange peel. While a bit bumpy, it's smooth. Hope that makes sense. Just like running your hand over an orange or grapefruit 😊
I am in the end part of my similar bathroom makeover. Same 90’s bathroom. I did take on the plumbing part with my husband and boy was that challenging!! The faucets hadn’t been replaced for 25 years when we built the house. I painted my cabinets too and I just love the difference. I didn’t take on the challenge of the counters but I think they match the new cabinet color. Thanks you for sharing.
Great! My husband was saying that due to some dripping that he can't get to stop he is probably going to go ahead and replace the faucets at some point soon. He didn't say that until I had already painted them... 😅 But these will be great in the meantime!
@@TashaatHome Just a little tip about buying faucets. We bought some on Amazon and the parts are all plastic and now the water has a horrible taste to it and I can't get it to go away. I keep running the faucet (that is what I read when I googled it).Look for metal parts.
