This is perfect! I have an old quilt that was all hand sewn and hand quilted by my grandmother, and great grandmother...probably in the early 1950s, from fabrics that were 1940s feed sacks, then made into clothing, then too worn to be clothing. I've kept it folded in a cabinet and pulled it out to use as a Christmas tree skirt. But, THIS would give me something i can look at and appreciate, far more often, and be USEFUL.
I’m impressed with how your patterns flow on the balero vest. They’re all in the right place! It’s really cute and then the big one on the back. You make it look so easy. Keep up the good work.
When I started watching this video, I did not think I would like a quilt. jacket but I can honestly say that orange one is really nice. I like that a lot that’s my favorite. Nice job. Thanks for sharing.
The quilted coat hands down is my favorite. I love the pumpkin-spice color. It is so good for the fall. Worn simply with a turtleneck, high-waited jeans and boots. Chef's kiss.
I really enjoy watching your videos, and especially when you flip your finds into something else. I have a new sewing machine but, I'm so afraid to start sewing, because it's been years since I've sewn. Thank you for sharing, you are definitely an inspiration. Looking forward to your next video. 🤗
aww thank you so much! go for it! i think you'll be surprised how long the skill of sewing stays in your fingers! i took a 12 year break from when i first took lessons, and now here we are!
Ive thinking about doing this and LOVED every second of this video. Love love them all three but If i have to pick one, it would be the long orange coat. that coat is perfection, gurl!
You are so skill and glad to see that you are selling items on your website. You go thru the extra task of really finish off these projects. My favorite is the pumpkin spice quilted coat. This was excellent but I don't expect anything less than perfection from you. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the days to come.
I Love YOU!! I have been looking for someone like you and what you do for YEARS!!! Today is my lucky day.!!!! you were there for me. You magically appeared!!! Looking forward to seeing more from you!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I'm so excited.!!!!!
You did an amazing job. I might try making one myself. It's been years since I've sewn any clothing for myself but this winter might be the time to try sewing again.
Wow you can really make it happen on those quilts that you bought awesome job. Love how they all turned out and your excitement on making them great Job❣️✂️✂️🧵💖💗💕
They were all pretty cute, but I loved the second one the best. The snaps are a really good idea. The ogre was was cute too, but it looked just a bit like a housecoat! Hey that’s a great idea! I need a new house coat, so I could make it from a quilt! You’re really cute! And creative!!
i love the simple pattern u made and the sleeves look so easy too. Your videos and sewing are so quick...I am thinking i could have a go too. Now i just need to get myself down to a charity shop to look at some blankets. Can't wait🏃♀
I have a similar coat to your 1st one, manufactured by Northern Lites. I bought it from a thrift shop & have worn it for many years, lovin 'it. Before I owned it, it had a snap on hood so I'd like to make one with a snap on hood. A feature on mine I'd also like to duplicate is an inside left 'hidden' pocket that's so useful for carrying my credit card. Great work! Thanks for sharing! ☮️💞🙏🏼
K so first time watching and that was fun! I have a vintage, thin quilt that I love but really have no purpose for...’TIL now 😉. I’m going to give this a try. Thx for sharing.
I actually had a whole collection of denim jackets with quilt inserts about a year ago! There’s a thrift flip video and a video about the whole collection!
You are soo Kooky Kute ! Big smile here and I just love your coats Thanks for sharing. Subbed and hit the alarm. Can't believe I found you as I was just thinking I should be going to the thrift store and look for clothes of good material or just good material to re design to wearables for me
Just found your videos. What lovely garments you have made and so quick and easy. What amazed me was you seem able to machine sew standing up. Is that easier? I’ll be looking out for more videos. Thanks again.
Don't you dare say that to yourself! remember your creativity starts with your eyes... set yourself some time to walk around the clothes rail at your local thrift store and start imaging to yourself what & how you would redesign upcycle the garment and bring new life to it .. your imagination and motivation will kick in once you give it some visual fuel ... give it a try !
I really want to make one of these but I'm finding it difficult to find an appropriate quilt in the UK...any quilts I see are so expensive! And for some reason there aren't usually quilts in the charity shops (at least not in the ones I know of!). How much did you pay for your quilts if you don't mind me asking?
