I have missed going to the thrift stores on a Sunday and hunt for those geeky gems. Usually, after Christmas and the yard sale season are good times to do that collection expansion. Love that Krusty Burger shirt and the classic Dune books. Happy New Year!
The Land Before Time was the very first movie I saw in the theatre, it was larger than life, and the scene with Little foot’s mom has been burnt into my head for 32 years! I love that flick!!! Tree Star for Life!!!
A Thrift Shop visit wouldn't be complete without an appearance of Jurassic Park Lost World on VHS!!! LOL! Nice Little Haul! The thrift shops in my area are not the greatest.
Jeez, I saw you pass over that Dragonlance book. Those were my favorites when I was in junior high and high school. That sure stirred up some memories.
@@LauraLegends and toys r us and mall ones! I really wana send you a video how bare my stores are but im also hopping youll visit someday like you did when you got carnatorus
Cool Gundam shirt! I don't know a whole lot about it, but when I was into it, a pilot flies this spacecraft and it transforms into the midsection of a giant robot. What you see on your tshirt is Gundam's head. I'm not certain but it may be Z-Gundam. That's the head of the robot.
Love those Dune books! Gotta look for those myself, the Dune 2000 game got me into the universe when I was younger and came with our first ever pc and been hooked ever since! Still my favourite game of all time 😄
Laura do you have any original Star Wars figures from the 70s. I heard that some of them are worth heaps like the Boba Fett and Dark Varder with retractable light sabre. Both of which i had when i was a kid wished I'd kept them.
If you only get one piece of Gundam merch, that shirt is a nice choice: simple, classy looks, and the RX-78-2 is the real OG 😎 Oh, and Kevin J. Anderson is a pretty well-known SF author, wrote a bunch of Star Wars books & comics pre-Disney 😉
When you picked up that t-rex at 3:33 I thought about the baby t-rex from Land Before Time and how there arent many collectibles. Later on you talk about picking up a VHS copy of the movie and the puppets! lol
Trying to go somewhere and then gets food on the way....same! 🙄😁 that sounds fun, repainting the Dilophosaurus, if you want any painting tips, you know where I am 😊
Can we just appreciate the Krusty Burger shirt?!?! I feel you on Value Village!! I find it a real hit or miss, and when I do find stuff I really have to think about whether I want to pay that much!
On January the 5th i can officially Retire from my full time job. Been stocking up on item's and games to start my Reseller Online Career Thank god i can start having some fun! love Ya Laura!
Tim Horton's recently made it to Minnesota. But more importantly, a T-shirt in January! There's a Value Village in Wisconsin, but I can tell by the price tags and store alignment that you're in (what we call) Savers.
I'm not up to date with Berserk but I heard a lot of events have been happening with Guts & Casca. What I'm looking foward to is the Fist Of The North Star manga release in June.
@@LauraLegends there are not bad, it's one series written by different authors bases in the D&D world. I used to work in used book store (in Ontario actually) so I passed the time reading them
He did Jedi academy right? He did 3 books right? Right after the thrawn trilogy I believe... funny I know that I think I read them and I don't usually read books.
Kevin J Anderson writes for just about anything. He is a good writer though. I have some X-Files, Stargate and Buffy the Vampire Slayer novels from him.
Thanks Laura Sheets, blankets, towels, t-shirts, shampoo, tooth brushes and keychains. To name a few of our collection. Not to mention plates, bowls, glasses, cups and salt n pepper shakers.( my fav a Gandalf glass goblet from burger king) Nice score on the hunt. ❤️🤠
Couple of things. 1. Laura eats desert before dinner 😂 stopping for sundae then sammich 2. The rock looks doofy on that scorpion king action figure 3. I was all GOOEY LOUIE! AAAAAAAND ITS LEGO KNOCK OFFS!!!
I grew up watching Tim Horton's commercials but I've never been to one. The rrrroll up the rrrrim to win! contest commercials always made me laugh and think "Oh, those kooky Canadians!"
Wow Laura, I haven't seen The Land Before Time on VHS in ages! That sleeve is near mint too! Man me my younger brother and sister would watch it like nearly every day until our damn VCR ate it and ruined the tape. 📼🦖📼 Our Mom never got us another one back then either because they were a little pricey back then. 😂 And that's a negative on Tim Hortons here in Southern California. That's like saying is there an Inn-N-Out in Canada?? Haha
Thank you for showing the realities of Canadian Value Village. Like night and day to their American counterparts. Makes it tough to source/resell. That Iron Maiden shirt might've been worth it if you do any reselling. Hard to tell but the tag looked old.
I love Tim’s! They’re in Michigan and some other Midwest states. We do have value village here too. In high school it was THE place to go and buy retro clothes.
Fun fact about your shirt. The Gundam on your shirt is the RX-78-2 Gundam. It is the titular or main Gundam of the first Gundam series, Mobile Suit Gundam, and it was primarily piloted by Amuro Ray. Us Gundam fans call it the Grandfather.
I once got a framed autographed photograph of the original Lone Ranger Clayton Moore with a certificate of authenticity on the back for $20 bucks at a thrift store.
Laura needs a camera-man! Or maybe one of those gimbal to help stabilize it? I chuckled when I saw "Bored of the Rings". The giant bone was surprising and my favorite. Nice Gundam shirt too.
I think it is great that you're expanding your collecting interests into books. You do have to learn to identify the 1st Ed./1st print as these are the only print that will appreciate. Once you can do that, you can walk into any thrift store and go through an entire wall of books and literally pluck the $100 bills from the shelves. Also important is condition. Then no stinky (mold or mildew),spotted (foxed) or clipped books unless $$$. It will blow your mind when sitting right in front of you on the shelf for $1 is a forty year old book, fine condition that's worth several hundred dollars. Imagine sitting there amongst all the pulp, a 1st 'Catcher In The Rye' ? Oh yeah Poppy, Cha Ching!
I don't know if they do this in Canada, but here (in Oregon) if you donate stuff to Value Village you get a discount. I think it maxes out at 20%, but every little bit helps
G’day again Miss Laura, you seem to be having a “party” in your car with all of that “Maccas tucker”. But that’s a good point you make mate, visiting your local thrift shop for donated unwanted gifts. Loved the cool t-shirts on offer. Things are more expensive now cause the word is out “dude”. Even the staff of thrift shops watch “American Pickers” etc, etc so they know to go through all the toys that are donated just in case. It’s all extra competition for us mate.(Ha,Ha).👍😁😄🤪🇦🇺❤️
Cool vid. Prices look similar to a lot of the thrift shops in Australia now, so many of the bigger name ones are overpriced considering it's second hand stuff and they're supposed to be charity stores.
This video is nice . Slowed down an we can actually see the prices an the toys properly . Your toys are us videos are always munch faster with the camera going pass the toys quickly not really seeing prices an caustic eye hurt lol Great video ...
