I live in California and Goodwill, Salvation Army, have become ridiculous in their pricing. I get better deals at Ross and Walmart. There is one Christian thrift store I go to. They are reasonable and have 50-75 discounting and a 40% off everything one day a week. All profits go to several charities❤.

Found your channel today, new subscriber here. You are right , yesterday I was at couple antique stores in my town and I was amazed how they increase the prices in the past years. I saw crocks and vases that l bought years ago so cheap that they increase price between $100 - $200 above the price I got them . I couldn’t believe the prices they are asking now. Love the vase you got, beautiful piece ❤️

It makes me sad because I love second-hand, vintage and antiques so much but sometimes I just can't justify the cost. That vase is my new favorite decor piece right now. I love it! I was visiting my friend for a week and we went antique shopping. I saw a 24 inch metal capital cursive H that was chippy and rusty in a beige color. People used to put letters like these on their houses or chimneys or even on the or fence. The H was $40. I kinda didn’t want to spend that much on something that I thought my husband would not like. And we don’t have anything in our house that is chippy and farm house looking. After I got back to my friend’s house and she ran an errand I called the antique store and had them hold it for me. Then I called my friend and she said she’d stop by and get it. I just couldn’t get it out of my mind. Well, my husband loves it. It’s hanging on our kitchen wall and looks perfect. I’m glad I bought it. In the video you picked up a ceramic gold and green leaf that was $28. I have one just like it that I bought at an estate sale for $5. I’m looking forward to your next DIY videos. I have a plant stand that was my grandmothers that has 3 legs that looks like balls attached to each other. It needs a little repair so I’m going to get it out and fix it. I won’t be painting it just putting wood polish on it. I’m interested in what you put in yours. What a great story. Thank you for sharing it. Sometimes the value in something is what we make of it and I know how it goes when you find that one thing that won't let you rest until you have it. I'm so happy your husband loved it too. I bet it looks amazing. And even though you don't have chippy or shabby in your home, those unexpected touches really can make all the difference to your space. I agree that Estate Sales are the best value. You must be patient though because you may have to wait until you find those special pieces. My husband and I enjoy the hunt!

Yes, its hard to even find estate sales in our area. We do luck out on occasion, but they are rare. The ones we've visited, we've managed to find some amazing things. Thank you for your comment. We loved hearing from you ❤

I guess stores can price as they like but we, as consumers can then make our choice as to whether we’ll pay it. It’s frustrating though.

@@robynemme2458 I completely agree. We as consumers do have the power to not buy the overpriced items. I do find that it makes those truly special finds even better when you get them for a good deal. Thank you for being with us on our channel ❤
