0:12 Haha, welcome to the club ;) I've read The Reluctant Swordsman, it was ok but I didn't feel compelled to read the rest and made me reluctant to buy an entire series at once ever again, back when I bought books new. It just wasn't what I was looking for at the time, maybe I should give it another chance.
Elric at the End of Time is one the last Elric stuff I've yet to acquire. Seems interesting enough, though. Cool stuff in the video, though not much I've heard of.
I do love those old Elric covers. But I'm not a huge Moorcock fan believe it or not...not that stops me from buying his books just for the vintage artwork!
@@GrammaticusBooks I get that. His trippy, high-speed writing style is definitely an acquired taste. And yes, practically every one of his books has fantastic cover art!
@PulpMortem Overheard one of the employees at my Savers say "Yeah, this is just gonna be all used books someday soon," and I so want that to be true, but I also don't want to pay out the butt for secondhand paperbacks.
Elric at the End of Time has a couple of Elric short stories and a couple of things on the development of Elric at that time. One of the Elric stories is a crossover with Moorcock's Dancers at the End of Time series. Sojan The Swordsman is a character Moorcock wrote in his late teens in the 50s. The last story "The Stone Thing" is a short, humorous story. This book has some good stuff in it, just not all of it is Elric. Speaking of the cover, youtuber brotherbanzai did a video called Black Sword where he forged the sword on the cover. Check it out.
@@secretfirebooks7894 That's right. Also, years ago Raven Armory forged their own Stormbringer but I don't know if it's for sale now. Moorcock approved of that one long ago.
War in Hell is the 10th in the long running shared world Heroes in Hell series. I have the first three or four books, and have read the first two (back in themists of time). I remember them being a fun read, especially if you enjoyed dark humor.
