RU-vid took over four hours to check this upload. I’m sorry it’s being posted so late :( I stayed up until 4 (so 6 hours after it was officially “uploaded”) and it still wasn’t done. We might have to change the upload time because I cannot keep staying up like this
Idk if this is true since it's anecdotal, but I find that RU-vid upload times are very much time dependant. I'm EST and for me 11am videos will upload super fast, but after 6pm they are really slow. I'm guessing it's something to do with the amount of people using both the internet and RU-vid.
Brooke your adorable! I love your channel I watch it frequently, I’m a vintage Barbie collector from Michigan. I love to see younger women collect dolls! Bless your collecting!
i wish we had toys in thrift stores or flea markets in my country too :( this seems so great to have! i recommend w.i.t.c.h. to you btw :) i grew up watching the cartoon and reading the magazines and comics and always loved it! i have just started recollecting all w.i.t.c.h. things because my mum threw it all away before :( it's so cool tho
W.i.t.c.h. is a both a great show and comic. Alessandro is the artist for both sky doll and w.i.t.c.h., while Barbara is the writer. You should check out the giochi preciozi dolls. They're much more accurate than the DS ones.
Since you mentioned it, I looked up the Mattel Disney signature dolls and I had no clue they made that many. The Rapunzel and Aurora + Maleficinet two pack is so cool 😭😭 Time to add more dolls to the grail list lol
Haha if it was me who corrected you calling a Chelsea Kelly I’m sorry 😅 Kelly was just my favorite and I disliked them changing her. The Odette doll is Amazing! Such a cool find. For cleaning fabric things that can’t go in the washing machine I have an odd technique, there’s a product called Spray and Wash that use. I spray a little bit of Spray and Wash onto a baby wipe and wipe the whole surface. Then once it drys I wipe it again with just a damp cloth and leave it to dry 😃hopefully it works for you too
I think the reason for the Chelsea/Kelly situation is because Mattel couldn’t secure the copyright to the name Kelly in dolls in all countries, so they changed it to Chelsea
What an amazing haul!! I especially love Odette, you got a great deal on her! I'm sorry those things the librarian said to you are still haunting you. People just don't realize how much of an impact their words can have, especially on a kid who is just trying to have fun and learn through books. They should've encouraged you to read even more, not abandon the science books you were interested in :/ Also, I love that you met so many nice people on your latest shopping trips. Honestly, doll collectors everywhere should just go for it whenever they have a suspicion someone else might also be interested in dolls. I'm usually way too anxious to talk to strangers but how awesome would it be to just strike up conversation with another adult picking out dolls for their collection at the toy store?! Gotta get that local doll community going somehow, hahaha.
Your library story reminded me of second/first grade me going to my school library to borrow books about Greek mythology and/or like "original fairy tales"
I love/hate these vids lol. I’m so jealous of your thrift stores! The ones I have near me hardly ever have any dolls. At least I get to enjoy the doll hunting experience vicariously through your videos!
Gosh, someone who remembers Palace Pets, hello I see you! XD Yeah, they DID have an animated series or shorts that ran on Disney Junior for a bit. I don't remember much about it, but they were these cute standalone episodes about all the pets hanging out together in this little castle of their own when their princesses didn't need them, entered via these stained glass windows, and they would get into shenanigans together. I don't remember much about Rapunzel's cat there, but Ariel's cat, Treasure, was my favorite, she was very sweet. Also Belle had a horse that was a book nerd, she was a fun character. Gosh though, I totally feel you on finding people who take interest in dolls in public. I have run into a few, namely when I was hunting for Brianna, there was this really sweet girl my age who was eyeing an OMG doll, I believe you covered her recently, the one with the yellow, red, and green braids/buns? We had a moment over that, it was great. But you know who I ended up talking to about dolls more? The craft store cashiers. See back when AC Moore was still around, there were two of them very closeby, and there were cashiers at both who would ask what I was making, and when I said dolls, they always took an interest and asked more. I remember there was this one young lady, probably about my age, who remembered me on a second visit, like "Oh yeah you're the one who used yarn for doll hair". That tickled me, I liked her. Like she knew what my hobby was and that was so cool! Sadly since the chain closed down right as the pandemic hit, I lost that, and don't have nearly the same relationship with the people are Michaels or Hobby Lobby, or at the places where I get my dolls since I mostly do self-checkout (anxiety man), but I say hi to other doll people if I see them in the wild (like the nice lady who was hunting for series four a few weeks ago, we only had Meena back then). I'm honestly a little nervous for whenever garage sale day happens around my area, if I'm not traveling during it, I'd really like to go and see if I can find some dolls, but being asked about it scares me. My dolls and what I do with them are cool, but I get that it's not for everyone.
I don’t know which of the stores you were in, but there was a doll about 18 inches and you said you’d never seen her before, well she was a Terri Lee doll, who was made in the late 40’s early 50’s. She would be a real find. I do believe the Ashton Drake Galleries came out with a reproduction about 30 years ago, but that would make that doll pretty collectible too. I love little cloth dolls also. Love your videos ❤
I didn't catch the time stamp, but the vintage looking blonde doll that you said you had never see that face before is a Terri Lee doll. I wanna say they were first made in the 1950s. I could not tell if that was a reproduction or actually from the 50s/60s. Never seen one at a thrift store. Pretty neat. You find a pretty good variety of stuff. My thrift stores are always hit and miss.
In the store I work at, we sell those types of books in a little box set, I am sure I’ve seen the winx club books. My brother and I really liked the original winx club anime.
Now I have to run to Burlington, I need that RH watch with changeable bands!! LOL 😂 and we have a store called Book off also a used book store that carry’s dolls seems similar to the one you went too
32:34 I think she is a Holiday Barbie probably one of the 2008-present ones, I immediately thought of the 2008 one I think in the pink dress but I could be wrong, it'll be worth checking out. :)
Some Barbie fans can be pretty intense. I'm planning on recollecting the Hip 2 Be Square & Pretty In Plaid Barbies (1998, If you like the Hip 2 Be Square you'll probably love these). I had one of each as a kid but their dresses are in the wind so I'm using that as an excuse collect both full collections & have my childhood babies redressed since their screenings are beautiful. Might even give them new bodies if I can find matches. Their hair is still so soft & nice despite how much me & my three sisters played with them too. Late 90's & Early 2000's is my favorite period for Barbie. They were just don't such fun or there designs & themes that I feel like the modern Barbies tend to lack.
Also I love 2nd N Charles. I've literally gotten in box barbie for under $5 there multiple times before. They're also pretty fair about pricing in general. I find if a dolls not actually rare they'll be priced accordingly by the appraisers who work there. They're not scalper like with their prices which I appreciate. The most expensive in box doll I've ever personally seen there has been $25.
Palace pets do have series thats on youtube thats actully how I know about them. I dont have their figures but the show is so sweet I think I watched it like 3times. Also that Barbie is so cute omg the 90s one. What is she called? Great finds btw. I found at thrift store in box two lala loopsie minis one was Pepper and other was Marina (3.99€ each) so thats pretty cool find I have recently.
My goodwill just started putting out dolls in the thrift store and I'm so excited bcuz I haven't seen them I years since they were selling all the dolls online
I love the Mattel Disney screenings too. I didn't buy any of the Hasbro dolls except Raya and the Last Dragon. The Barbie is Easter Style from 1997. I had that one displayed this past Easter.🙂. That Barbie was a Holiday Barbie and has a Model Muse body.
I generally cannot wait to go doll hunting again, last great find I found for me was a 1965 American Girl brunette barbie for two whole Canadian dollars lol ☺️
oh my gosh im the same way with the nonfiction thing! what a weird comment for the librarian to make, it wasn't any of her business and you're just making yourself smarter! i'm sorry she made it weird for you :(
Ugh, something like that S thing happened to me. I admit I don't know a ton about Bratz, possibly nothing, but I do know that the regular bratz clothes fit RH and Failfix, so I bought a lot of doll clothes and was really excited. They show up and they're micro. Like, smaller than my pinkie, and I'm like what? They were marked at Bratz, and didn't have a ruler or anything next to them, so I wasted like $25. They're also dirty, so if I wanna resell them I don't know what they are AND I have to wash them. :( I need to find out if there's thrift stores around here.
Love your haul videos. We just picked up a dream seekers doll too. Ha ha. I had never seen them before. My daughter was in love. You got a lot of great finds! So fun. That's not cool about ebay. Item not as described. That makes me mad and I am not even dealing with it. I love book lol. We have a very diverse book collection. I read a lot of nonfiction as a kid too. We are reading the old nancy drew yellow books at the moment.
I remember getting those early Mattel Disney dolls, especially the Pocahontas color change dolls, me and my brother had John smith, Pocahontas and. Nakoma I think I spelled her name wrong. Seeing you with that doll brings back nostalgia to me.
0:07 is the doll that is on my Channel Banner and so many videos. Ofc put on mtm body. I love this doll :D The prettiest mattel made doll ever, she was basic doll from the supermarket :D And 0:38 is the doll I use as her sister :D and I have her trolls shirt :D just randomly. I thought it was funny that all those things were in the same place! OH, that fashion fever set! Wow! And those dolls in box! Amazing! Yeah I get it for the Bell dresses in general, they always bad :D But this one very simple and that makes it pretty! I think they made the doll have flats so the crazy moms (the ones thinking Barbie is the devil) so those moms would like the princess more. :D I love Easter Barbies! I adore w.i.t.c.h. but I hate their dolls... I have the comic books from high school but the dolls don't look anything like the characters. You know of Skydoll! Sometimes I think it is only me :D
I've never heard of a librarian being mad that someone didn't want to read non-fiction o.o That's so weird, like, you're learning all kinds of new things, that's what school is supposed to be about!
Well librarians major in library which I think is a liberal art. So to me (from having known these people irl…) it checks out. Obviously not all are like this but uhhh… I can see it
I did that reading thing in middle school, I would read mainly biology bug fact flowery human body stuff books because checking out fiction books was so hard, how do I know what its about? Bug books are always about bugs, romance books are so varied. I end up just looking at pictures mainly
Awesome finds just subscribed to your channel I love watching thrift store videos and hauls!!! I’am new to your channel and wondering what is your favorite type of dolls to collect?
A good thought experiment about how something small and seemingly completely mundane and unimportant can stick with people. Keeps me from making comments unless they’re actually helpful or additive in some way
Cool finds ooooh the lasts weeks i past a lot disney books in the lot passt to my friend saling or giving werever the nuber one hq from these series witch i not used and stocking my closet Great amazing dremhouse these my dream
I was born in 1987, i collect Barbie’s from the 80’s and some 70’s I have the 90’s reproduction Barbies and have a soft spot for the superstar era and a real love hate relationship with bob Mackie, I have a few 200’s era Barbie’s but I was alive for most of the good era lol never feel bad about wanting to collect something from outside of your lifespan it’s a great way to relive some epic times and have a time capsule of what was and fashion fever was amazing
highly HIGHLY recommend W.I.T.C.H its absolutely phenomenal & Cornelia owns my soul S1 E15 'Mudslugs' is my favourite for one veruy specific reason, that reason is mentioned above, I just I love her so much
w.i.t.c.h. is so important to me (my first tattoo is the elemental symbols) that i avoid looking for the dolls for the same reason lmao, my pride and joy is the irma doll my mom got me in like fifth grade but i know i'm never gonna be able to get any more of them unless i come into a lot of money someday
School Librarian tells little Brooke that its strange she only picks out non-fiction books. Develops library related anxiety, goes to University to become someone who deals with non fiction related topics.....I think you are doing okay there Sugar.
@@xCanadensis I didnt mean to sound condescending! I am so sorry! I was more just saying how its wonderful that you kept your passion in the face of adversity and how great that is. I did not mean any harm and feel really awful if I annoyed you. I am so happy for you that you are able to do something that you love and are able to instill your love and interest for science to children. I feel like a right turd now...I just want you to know I meant nothing mean or rude by what I said.
@@xCanadensis No no! Its alright. I should just comment on the doll stuff. Things dont always come across well through text and the Sugar....I was trying to say something other then Hun....its always Hun :(....I also didnt say what you did for a living as I didnt remember what your title is (not that I am asking its none of my business and I mean that is a polite way). I am so happy you graduated and got a job in your field. Loads better then what I am up to. Again, I am sorry.
hey brooke you're looking for the 2007 ariel sisters dolls? the ones with those rubbery bendable tails? i own the ariel with missing accessories, but still with her top. i can send her to you for free if you'd like, i don't use her and i don't collect disney. she's been sitting in a box for a while now, and although she's super intriguing and beautiful to me, she'd be much better off with you. you have a p.o. box, yes?
I don’t mind evangelism and spreading whatever religious message you want… but there’s something sinister about only helping people you think fit god’s plan and forcing evangelization upon the most vulnerable of people in need lest they be turned away from being sheltered/assisted
NC has a population that is more than double that of Alabama which is where this hunt took place. This hunt also took place over a distance of around 70 miles. If you search and take the time to find places that work, there are doll I guarantee you that. It’s not just wandering in one day and finding them all- it’s constant work to find places that yield dolls and going to those places often- even though you often will find nothing.
I am searching for Ana and Elsa from Wreck It Ralph Wrecks the Internet..Also Descendents,Tinker Bell/Perwinkle dolls with other fairies and few others.Looking for Carlos of Descendents.I have one NA!NA!NA! doll in my collection goth one.
