Refreshing to see a savvy shopper thrifting with a purpose without reselling in mind. It’s great to literally repurpose items and give them a new life and you always do a great job!
Love the winter picture with skater❤. We don’t have Goodwill near us and can’t believe how expensive they are. I always thought they were much cheaper. You always find the nicest things and have such a talent for displaying them in your home
I have that same basket with the handles. It holds a 9x13 glass baking pan. It is definitely an old piece. I've been married 41 years and thats when i got mine.
Good evening Julie! I liked this format of the “buggy haul” ! I love the brown curtains and how you styled the duck decoy on top of the plate !!! I love the vignette in Elizabeth’s bathroom - the Amber is so nice with the napkin and brown crocks! Love it! -and speaking of Elizabeth !! She is really a young adult ! Her haircut is so pretty on her . Sweet , pretty girl. Well -ya “did good” as the saying goes. I enjoyed this and look forward to Sunday ! Have a great weekend! ❤🍁🍁🍁🍁 Marilyn xx
When we had it our thrift store back in TN, someone donated some Pfaltzgraff pieces in the same pattern of the ones you looked at. I don't collect it but i did keep a little creamer with a little bowl it sat in and a really cute candlestick. Its the only creamer I have that has a little bowl it sits in, thought it was sweet😊 Love the ice skater art piece. Oh Goodness.. the little school girl in the bonnet was precious & would have def come home with me! Some of my fav art to collect is photos, painted, printed, drawn.. it doesn't matter! I liked the square tissue holder, i use that type box by my bed.. and yes i would have used some antiquing wax on it for sure! I don't care for shiney brass either. The scarfs are also pretty hanging on a peg rack thru the holidays & winter months. The basket piece looked like a lid to a basket to me 🤷♀️ Lol.. yes i paused & guessed before you turned it over😄 But I'm hoping there WAS a bottom at that price😳 The brown panels look really good in your kitchen! Love how you styled the tray, & with the napkin! Elizabeth got some cute pieces too! Enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing! Pray you have a blessed weekend🙏🏻
The basket will actually hold a 9 x 13 glass pyrex baking dish. I have 2 of them that I received at my bridal shower 40 years ago! I still use them. They are great when you need to bring a dish to a pot luck (obviously I cover whatever it is with foil). I also have the round casserole dish with lid and matching basket. It amazes me when I see stuff I’ve had for years. Loved the way you styled it.
Wow goodwills prices are crazy especially for the Wexford jars . I never realized toothpaste would take off crayon marks , thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful week Julie ❤
I love everything Ms. Julie. I’m sick about that Kitchen at Mt. Vernon piece though. 🙃 The little blue duck was so cute too. We’ve all been there. I went today and I’m thinkin’ about atleast 2 or 3 things I left. Loved Elizabeth’s finds. Sorry if I misspelled her name, it’s my middle name and mine is spelt how I wrote it. She is such a doll as are all your girls. Her little bathroom vignette turned out great and I love using vintage containers for other uses too.
Julie when I saw you pick up the oval white plate with the green trim, I immediately thought you were going to pair it with the cups to make some sort of Christmas decoration.
Omg!!! I can’t believe you found that PBuckley Moss. I really hope you got that!! That artist if from my area! They sell for quite a bit & maybe more now. She just passed away a couple weeks ago. Go get it!!!!
Yeah that blue and white duck pitcher was gorgeous. Been there, done that, several times unfortunately. But you wound up getting a nice little haul. Blessings to you and yours.❣
Loved your video as usual. You have such a good eye and then use everything in a great way!!! I haven't been thrifting in about a year or so because I truly don't need or want anything. But then I watch your videos and I want to go just for the fun of it. I am focusing on Goodwill Bins (Pound Store) where I have gotten a lot of very nice things for a very low price. Check out where one is near you and made a special trip. You'll like the experience.
Love the Buggy Thrift haul Julie and hello to your lovely Elisabeth ❤ just how good do the Kitchen Chocolate curtains look so beautiful the whole set up is gorgeous 🌸
I had no idea about toothpaste removing crayon! Thanks for sharing the tip and your styling ideas.I look forward to your videos and use them as inspiration when I’m out thrifting. ❤
You have great things at your Goodwill. We dont ever really have great things like you find. Some of the prices of some items are ridiculous! This is Goodwill for goodness sakes. I know prices everywhere has gone up but why does Goodwill feel like they need to do the same. Thanks for sharing your shopping and showing how you styled things. ❤️
I really like thoes sheer curtains. Perfect for the kitchen. Elizabeth is so cute, a really pretty girl. That blue duck was a steal. Maybe with a little luck it will be there, of course maybe not for that price. Take care.
That twisted paper faux wicker and pressed board item was originally a carrier/holder for a glass casserole dish. I hade one in the 1980's or 90's like it. Great idea to use it for a tray. Love the restaurant ware platter w/ green stripe.
Less than 2 miles from that Goodwill is a thrift store called The Village Thrift Shop. Have you ever been? I was out that way a few weeks ago and found so much there. Every Saturday the whole store is 25% off.
I have the Pfaltzgraff Yorktown dishes. You found two little crocks I would love to have had. I'll need to be on the hunt for those myself! Then you picked up the correll plate with the blue heart. I have those, too! We got them when my now 27 year old was a baby. I was laughing. I like to play, " Did Julie Keep it in Her Buggy" while watching. I stuck out today, but I was distracted by the dishes.
I was so excited when you picked up that basket because I have had the same one for years! I use mine to carry casserole dishes to various events. Never thought to use it any other way, but you gave me new ideas! Also: toothpaste to get crayon off?!!🤯 Where has this been all my life?! Guess I’m spending my day getting crayon off of furniture😂
Hi Julie! Hi Elizabeth! I would've grabbed the Christmas tree plate in a minute. I'd have to think about the berry plate. Thanks for the info on the basket lid. I was wondering what the heck that was 🙄. I haven't made any Christmas purchases yet. But I've seen a couple of tree ornaments that would be too heavy for a tree so I'll use them as shelf ornaments. Hope y'all have a great day ❤.
7:52 I have several of those scarves in different colors that I fold triangle-wise & secure with a decorative brooch, that I keep on the back of my glider chair to use as a shawl, because I live in a cooler climate year-round & sometimes I just need something for my shoulders instead of a sweater.
Hey gal thanks for the toothpaste trick 😊 you found some nice things 😊I love the way you styled the basket in Elizabeth’s b/r , she’s a doll just like her momma 😊 I took a platter & green striped items took the thrift store I just didn’t use them 😊 I cleaned out my pie safe & bottom of my hossier but wouldn’t you know it they’re packed full again 🤦♀️ but it’s item’s I pull from 😊 have a Blessed wk end sweet friend 😊
Jukue alot of brass has a lacquer funish that you can remove with the powder version of bar keepers friend. Add a little water to make a paste & let ot sit on the piece for 20 minutes or so. It works on copper too. Just make sure you wear gloves since the lactic acid is rough on your skin. I think better copper pieces come from France, Portugal & Korea. I've enjoyed your channel & happy treasure hunting. 😊
Love your videos. Have you tried using the Mr. Clean magic erasers to clean up items? I use them to remove sticky residue from labels and even will remove spots on the carpet! I haven't tried them on crayon marks yet.
How strange. I went shopping in one of my local goodwills. They had the exact dogwood - what I call- poor man’s silver - aluminum bowl. Love the final look with the tray and the warm browns and naturals
The skater print( ? or was it cross stitch) is by P.Buckley Moss who recently died at age 91. Noted for depicting life in rural Virginia, she has followers across the USA.
That is unfortunate that so much stuff is over the clothes I've never seen that at a goodwill in my area.... I do like that you are not a reseller and I love to see how you styled your thrifted things
That kitchen garden goes for $56 online!!! It was really beautiful. But, I am like you, thrifting should be just that, thrifting. The prices have driven up rediculously over the years.😊
Did Elizabeth cut her hair? It looks sooo pretty! Alao, did I miss a video? Where did the lace go 8n your kitchen window? I have a piece set aside to do mine this next spring. Love the new look too, though. ❤Y'all!
Isn't it funny how we have a good idea for items I bought a wooden car thinking it would go nice in my drinks cabinet and I instantly did not like it but that is the way it goes
