UGH That DRESS!!! Haha! I also grew up in the 80s and I hated that dress style even when it was in style! I think it was just that awful button that really set me off. Thanks for watching. :)
Gold sparkly dress: No earrings. I would then put on my royal blue satin pajama pants I got off TEMU for 4 bucks and strappy gold sandals (flat) Wear my hair up in "Messy bun' style with huge royal blue claw clasp from the Dollar Tree. But then I am 64 and MORE IS MORE! (where have I heard that before?). I love this channel! You are a Badie's dream child!
I used to buy men’s sport coats with leather elbow patches to wear with turtlenecks and straight pants and good boots! Watching you with that great taupe sweater and oversized trench coat made me realize what I was going for a basic that added style! You elevated thrift store dresses especially and your Paris dress and the story made my day! My aunt was an amazing seamstress and made me a Chanel style outfit that stoped the show at a fraternity event of a major college! How understated it really was but stood out as classy! Thank you for bringing fashion memories back to life for me!
I really do like the lavender and red one shoulder dress for going out to dinner in the summer. I would wear it with big red or white flower earrings and you are right - no necklace.
I love the lavender pink dress on you. It definitely has a fun tropical vacation vibe to it! The cheap green dress looks so fabulous on you. It works well with your skin tone and hair color and makes the green in your eyes sing!
me too! i'd probably wear platform docs and a jean jacket with it. it looks like one of those things i'd wear once or twice then back to the goodwill it would go.
I love this dress too. I could wear it to a summer wedding or out to a restaurant during a beach vacay. With some cute wedge sandals (I've got a red pair that would look great). Adding a belt, but no scarf, because that off shoulder neckline is too fun.
Everything changes with the top layer and footwear! My friend used to make comments to me from the dressing room like you’re making about the blue belt, and the big black button, she had everyone in the store in stitches.
Try the dresses with some running shoes like the young fashionistas do. The running shoes suddenly make the dresses really cool. I started doing that lately and I am 56.
Great idea!! I often wear my skirts and dresses with my black Adidas sneakers and I love the way that looks. I am trying not to do the "white trainers" look though. I think that look is going to be dated really soon. I was so happy that women got to wear comfortable shoes and be stylish in the first time in what feels like forever!
Love love love these try-on videos! The blue lace looks great with your red hair & lip. Ditto the dark green dress. How about your combat boots for #12, the “pinky blob?” It would butch it up a bit more. ❤
With the royal blue dress, try keeping the black belt, but wear black shoes and a black necklace with it. Also, with your strappy dresses -- dark green and green/blue print -- look for something you can wear UNDER the dress. A simply T, with any length sleeves, would work as long as it fits snugly. The dresses then become jumpers.
Oh that 80s dress takes me back. *shudder* I’d forgotten about those big buttons - Vogue described them as ‘fun’! You look fabulous in the one shoulder dress, the gold dress, and the green dress. Great picks!
I love the green dress with the loose buttonholes. The style and fit are perfect. I had a similar clothing faux pas, I used flash tape to secure the button holes on the bodice of an ivory blazer. Somehow it rolled out the edge of the blazer and turned into a sticky black stripe down the front. No wonder people were staring at me , even from a distance, and I was in the US, so embarassment knows no borders.
Was hooked on the first video I found and immediately subscribed ... This brought me back to days as a news anchor with lots of ROYA BLUE synthetics !!!
Absolutely loved this!! My fav two were the warm autumnal coloured dress and the pompom one. Oh the pompom dress! I’m so envious. Thank you for also showing footwear and your trench coat. My biggest problem with dresses is always the winter coat. Its cold and muddy in rural UK for 8 months of the year
I liked most of them. The 1st short one looked like the 1960s. The gold sequin would be good for New Year's Eve. I would wear the long one bare shoulder dress most anywhere; it does say garden party, maybe vacation/cruise. Loved the green dress, the red dress, the last dress SO fun. I love blue and blue/green, peplums/ruffles are nice. The teddy dress looks cozy. I think the leopard print is supposed to be a very long tunic; I've seen similar style. Tights and leggings are different kinds of garments. Tights are hosiery; leggings are pants.
Your channel is AMAZING!!!! Just found you and have binged all the baddie ladies and adding bold, I loved this video as I am a thrifter and often find myself faced with the dilemmas that you’re experiencing!!! Thanks so much for all your help and keep ‘em coming….sub FOREVER! ❤❤❤❤
The way you styled the salmon dress shows how much talent you have. It looked, as you rightly said, boring - but with black boots and the “useless” scarf, it looked really cool. Fun fact - in the U.K., “mauve” rhymes with “clove”.
Okay my favorite is the one shoulder number! And red is such a great color on you. And the green dress. We should hold a ceremonial burning of the blue eighties dress-
Looks like you need to go on a Virgin Voyage Cruise with all those beautiful colorful dresses! Newbie sub here & I love your style & tips. And your sense of humor is 100% spot on! Love from Colorado
@@unblahyourself I'm going to Spain & Portugal in November with my hubby & cousins. I'm happy I found your channel cause this soon to be 61 yr old needed some refreshes. I get 98% of my clothes from thrift stores. I love it cause I can take chances. Thank you for sharing!
Oooh that sounds exciting! Did you watch my travel capsule wardrobe video?? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qa918MZILuQ.htmlsi=En8HGp2ygS8kJsLb
While I do think you're right and that would be a good use of that dress, I am laughing at the thought of myself at the races. I have never been "to the races". Maybe I should go!
I love love your hair in the wedge in more recent videos. It shows your eyes beautifully. You said you were growing your hair back out,I guess like this, and I’m thinking why!! But you’re beautiful regardless.
Great selection of dresses 👏👏👍👏👏😁😍. I would definitely steal some of those from your closet 😜. I am really loving your videos, we are the same age and I am enjoying your sense of humour and style. This last few months I have bought several clothing items second hand, things outside of my boring comfort zone and I am really enjoying trying out new styles without braking the bank or feeling guilty about adding to the environmental impact that clothing has. Have you tried the app Vinted? I have been really enjoyed using it .👍😁
I am so glad to hear all of that! The entire reason I started this channel is to connect with people and make friends who are into the same things. I wish you would come over and steal things from my closet because these videos are causing things to really pile up!
Older video but I love it! And I had to comment that the "not your favorite" blue dress is adorable! Reminds me of Blade Runner in a very very good way.
I like the 1st (black and white) dress with the black stockings, red shoes (and without the jacket). Try big gold hoops and a long gold necklace or scarf in red/white/black). you have a great figure and could wear it with modification.
You probably right. The only reason I say I wouldn't is because of my own comfort level. I'm 5'9" and when I bend over or sit in things like this it becomes an ISSUE. Ha! Dresses often become shirts on me.
Cute dresses. I thought a lot of them would've looked really nice with a turtle neck or a white button down shirt underneath them.😊 I liked the sweaters too though 👍
Yes I do love a turtleneck, and I'm always so surprised when people don't like them! I find them to be very versatile and stylish. Thanks for watching!
This is sooo fun! Can that blue one be saved?? My idea is cut the skirt off and wear the top as peplum with dark blue skinny jeans. Wear black strappy sandal heels. Love the red dress. It would be so cute on a pear shaped lady with ample booty and bigger legs.
You remind me of me 😂. I love your perception. Much keener than mine 😊. You have a really good eye! Do you have a good Tailor friend, when needed? My Tailor moved from Colorado to Pennsylvania. She worked for Nordstrom. Started her own business and she did everything mostly for free for me for about 20 years. 🙏🏼
Loved the fashion show. Pick up some more scarves and some vintage brooches and some metal and sparkly belts to dress up some of those dresses. The blue peplum 80s dress needs to go - 🫣. Love the video 🥰❤👍
The one shoulder dress: would be great for a garden party at Buckingham Palace ... or you could wear it with a jean jacket and white sneakers to go get groceries :)
