Maranda, I am one of those that is able to admire the beauty without owning it and it has driven a couple of my previous suitors nuts. Some seem to feel they can gain favor by giving the pretty trinkets but I am good just admiring items owned by others. However, I will travel miles to obtain one-of-a-kind vintage items.😂. The estate sale looked so tempting. Love the blue/green pot and think those pink flowers would look so pretty in it. You really scored wonderful items!

However I am very confident that I want to keep my crocheting as one of my un-monetized hobbies right now. I am pouring so much into my small businesses currently and that’s the one hobby that I use as my safe space to unwind with in the evenings and be fully free to create all in my own time. Those 2 rose framed pictures are on my wall. I think I got them in the store Bombay which is no longer in business. They had such beautiful and reasonable priced items. You’re certainly right, its easy to be tempted to buy things you love but dont need. Steal on crystal candleholders and the switch plate.

I have a set of the Santa plates. They were sold at Cracker Barrel. I picked up most of the set at yard sales. I have the mixing bowls and a canister set. I love them.

Put some Rub&Buff on the screw heads on the brass switchplate. Also a tip that my husband gave we a long time ago. Make sure the screws are turned in the same direction when finishing. Just a small detail that makes the difference.

Absolutely! I posted these shots knowing it wasn’t perfect and needed the screws painted/adjusted but I really wanted to still show how it looked regardless and my husband and I fixed it all the next day when we had more time 🩵🩵

I'm not sure if this would work for your home but I had custom switch plates and I disassembled the switch box so I could paint the white flip switch and screws to match the plate. That little detail made such a difference in the continuity of the theme I was going for. This was a long time ago and I had a Victoitan phase. But it did make a huge difference in authenticity and the way the eye flowed across the room while viewing.

I painted the screws the day after I filmed this after I had time to get the correct paint color that matched them 🥰 I mentioned that in the video but I think maybe I didn’t say it in enough detail! Haha oops

It looked like a collection of Noritake floral china? Did you happen to look at the bottom stamp? Looked like they were selling peices separately? Or maybe they had a set price too. I love love love that switch plate you put in your bathroom, my style completely. I agree, I would change out the screws to match the plate, or take a drop of rub & buff and lightly go over them. 🥰

Yes! I mentioned I’m going to get paint that matches the screws! I got the paint this week and painted them. The rub and buff was a completely different shade (more rose gold) so I had to wipe that off and go get gold paint haha!

I have two similar jadeite salt and pepper shakers. I have to be careful about bringing home items. My husband and I live in a small house and just can't bring home everything! I get your struggle with enjoying seeing things but being selective.

That rub and buff is actually a rose gold shade so it doesn’t match the dark gold color of the plate. I had to take it with me to Lowe’s to match the exact paint color actually 🥰 but I definitely tried the rub and buff first.
