When I was young, my mom had one of those metal star cutters w the handle and we used it to rough-chop strawberries after they had been cleaned.

The dress!! You did not tell who designed it or its maker but it is unbelievably gorgeous. To my limited eye, it looks like a Leonardo of Paris. Or another similar respected designer. The colors and art detail are world-class. Is it silk? That would be so great. Hope you love wearing it and if you have not tried to provenance it, I think you would be pleasantly surprised. I found 3 Leonardo silk neckties once. All of them cost me $3. Sold all within a month for over $150.

The black jewelry box with the butterfly was a San Francisco Music Box piece. Those have always been very nice music boxes. Not cheaply made.

I wish we had GWs in our area that carried that kind of merchandise. Yours carry items that are fantastic. They are even worth much more than the large prices the GWs are asking for them. You are very lucky to have access to these stores.

Here in SC a couple of summers ago kids would paint rocks and hide them all over town. If you found one you posted it in Facebook and hid it for someone else to find. Some of the small businesses would hide them and if you were lucky to find one you got a surprise if you took it to the business. So much fun.

Do you thrifters shop every day? I would have bought all those wooden and laquer jewelry boxes. They were reasonably priced. I would have liked to actually see more of the art. I had to stop going to Thrift stores, because it is addicting... I always feel like ,I have missed something, so now,I try to look for specific items because as you say when you turn a corner, there is always something new. Then if you don't get it it may not be there when you come back

I love good will store's I always find the best stuff there one time I got a pair of paints from Chicos and they were brand new with the tags still on it I got it for a great deal the price on the tag was $98 and I got it on sale for $5. What a difference I would never spend a lot of money on clothes I am a bargain shopper

The wood piece at 29:14 is Chinese and it depicts the dragon on the right side and the phoenix on the left side .The dragon is the symbol of the emperador and the phoenix symbolizes the empress. The dragon :masculine, the phoenix :feminine .Also notice how they are placed :dragon on the right side and phoenix on the left side.Sort of like a Ying /Yang .Between the dragon and phoenix ,looks like incense :celestial heavens .Looks like is meant to set something on it,like an incense burner .
