I vote for using just the doily. It let's the flowers be the star. Plus, it's very elegant, like the vase.

An idea for behind the shelves that I have done myself. First find large pieces of cardboard that would fill each back wall space. Then pick your favorite fabric, cut each piece to fit the back wall perfectly. And use painters tape to secure the fabric on the back side of the cardboard.Pop each specific piece cut to fit in its space. They can be changed out seasonally, or whenever the urge strikes you.🌸

I vote for option 2 - just the doily - but then I am more of a minimalist when it comes to too much for my eyes. LOVE the shelves!!!

The doily by far goes better with your style! The blue White placemats are perfect for your patio set.

Use the gold tray on the coffee table so the white vase pops against it. You could try the doily under it .For the backs of the shelves, cut foam core board to size and use wrapping paper or wallpaper on the boards and pop them into the backs of the shelves. You can change it for the season!

Can't believe u found that beautiful blue milk glass at the thrift store! Huge milk glass collector & I've only found 1 "in the wild"! lol My 2 book shelves are filled w white milk glass & my black amethyst pieces. The shelves are white & I used spray starch on some b/w patterned fabric for the back to make everything pop. Plus I've got lots of silver, glass & other goodies on there too. Oh, kinda liking the blue placemat better. Thinking I'd use both mats though. Maybe lay one across the other somehow. Blue & yellow really look great together

Any Motown from the 70’s!!! One tip on the shelves..... place the darkest colors at the bottom because they are “heavier” on the eye.

You could use nail varnish in a blue to match your swan vases to hide the chips. Also if you want to add colour to back of the shelves why not paper over art board so you can change it with the seasons.

Option 2. Simply and clean.

#2 coffee table. And, use the place mats as dish towels if they are not super thick. I love finding ones like those!

When you're thrifting, look for books bound in colors that suit your decor, remove the paper book covers and use the books as risers by stacking them (each stack at different heigths), placing some of your shorter fairy candles and other treasures on the stacks. A stack of books will give the shelves so much more personality and interest. Also, there are some beautiful books with gold page edges. I owned a gift shop and displayed things using many books on the antique furniture. It's such a good look and would be perfect for your Victorian home. I bought boxes of books at garage sales. Old worn books are the best. I still love and use the book risers. I think you will love the look and be so proud of your book shelves. Good luck to you!!!

Love your refresh, here are some of the things I have done. Get some aqua/turquoise books, all different hues, arranging them on the left side of the bookcase would probably off-set your framed paining. Look for some smaller art work, in those colors would give the shelves done depth. Some Blendo Mid Century Art Glass would give some shelf interest, keep your eyes open at yard/goodwill/estate adventures. Your coffee table is the center of your room and demands attention. Take your Florentine gold tray and create a vignette with the flowers and add a color coordinating with the shelves. One of the decorations Rules of the Road, use items in odd numbers 3, 5........ I will keep my eyes open for finding you a frog vase in a new color, oh yes! I am missing the shared fun and laughter from your duo vlogs with Laura. I watch her separately too, but it's not the same. Use the doily or both, but not the blue stripes alone as they clash with rug and well everything.

Those pillows on the couch are perfect. A delicate light color throw on the sofa back would really finish the look... just draped casually.

I use nail polish to touch up porcelain... Can usually find a good color match. It all looks beautiful ❤️

Option 2. The placemats would look great in the kitchen. Love the blue stripes. The display looks nice.

I use nail acrylic powder and the nail liquid to fix chips, mix it and apply to fill in chip. Once dry lightly sand with nail file, then I use the correct color of nail polish to paint the repaired chip. You can get great deals on nail polish at dollar store. Most of my repairs are almost impossible to see.

I think if you move the Foo dog and placed something smaller there everyone could see your painting with the beautiful colors. The Foo dog could be placed on another shelf to bring that blue elsewhere. Just a thought.

Option 2 is best because anything on the glass table is competing with the complexity (and beauty) of the oriental rug beneath it. Those turquoise swans are stunning. I look forward to seeing what others come up with for disguising the chips...

I went into the city to go thrifting yesterday. It was pretty much a bust until I stopped at a Goodwill I had never been to on the way home. I scored a glass and wood cabinet for $13! It actually made my day. I think I'm going to put our gemstone collection in it.

I like the lace you chose. Just a thought, my aunt an avid antique collector specifically Victorian use to cut wallpaper to the size of the back to say your bookcases. She then used thumb tacks to hold in place. Final touch was to color the tacks to blend in. Usually finger nail polish. She made many and exchanged them with the seasons.
