It looks like it might have been a lamp base. It has the hole for lamp fixtures and there's a dive on the bottom side for the cord so it would sit flat. Love your videos. Great job !

I agree that it appears to have been used as a lamp. It also has a little curve out of the bottom where the cord would go.

The hole in the bottom, and the little notch on the edge, it was used as a lamp. The hole for lamp mechanism and the notch for cord so item could sit level.

I believe the red firkin might have been used as a lamp base and the hole was used for the threaded rod. Everything looks beautiful. Love how the black and clear wax transforms the color and adds some patina to the look.😊

I agree it was a lamp. The curved notch on the lip of the bottom was where the cord would pass through so everything would sit flat.

Just gorgeous My gram had a bucket with a rod in it that held nuts in the shell There was a little container on top of the rod that held the tools to crack the nuts

The colors are all beautiful!! I have my grandmothers wooden bowls so no way would I paint them but I will definitely keep my eye out for some old bowls to paint to decorate my home with. Every time you paint a project with the milk paint I'm tempted to order some. It's just that there are so many colors to choose from.

Oh! I'm so glad while you were sanding the wooden bowls that you said " its ok to let them sit until you " know" what you want to do with them!! " That's what I do..and my friends seem to think I should work on my projects ASAP! Well, some I can and some I have to wait for inspiration! And you validated that for me!!!! Whew what a relief! Oh Yvonne, these are beautiful! I love the black wax also, so rich! I think your Furkin with the hole in the bottom may have been a stand. I remember in the late 60’s and 70’s ladies had those to put their yarn or needle work in. It had a spindle through that hole and at the base, 3 shorts legs to the floor. Sort of like what a tri-pod bottom/or legs would look like. Some were bigger Furkins and they had brass Eagles on them. I see many ideas in the comments ! I guess pick one you like best 😂😂! I really love the Cherry color and the mustard yellow. Great job on all your hard work to save them! 🥰🥰

That red bucket I believe at one time was turned into a lamp. The whole was for the rod n the other on the side was for the cord. I’m sure someone probably put fake greenery on the inside. I’ve seen those done before. The bowls n the firkins turned out absolutely amazing. They looked like they’ve weathered the years. I love primitive n these pieces were perfect. Can’t tell just how much I have learned from watching you doing these makeovers. I just found a new color that I like it’s the Ocean. It turned out so pretty. I’m telling you, you are the Best!! ♥️♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟👏👏👏

Be still my heart...OMG those colors together are fantastic, but those bowls had my heart right from the start (might have one or two myself), and that cherry color almost turns out like a dark terra cotta. But then BOOM, add the black and clear wax and even the mustard one that you couldn't see the distressing on now shines out with the waxes. Great job :) Wanda in FL
