Beautiful consignment shop so many lovely pieces. I really enjoy your information on each piece such a good education so to appreciate thrifting and antiquing. I have a very simular articulated porcelain dish maybe just a little bit smaller the back stamp only says Germany with picture in the center of probably an 18th century couple surrounded by swags and cameos of tiny rosebuds. Look forward so much to next week never miss a video.

I have an antique strawflower plate with hand drawn decoration, the circles are not perfect and uniform, it is marked with an blue X on the back with a P or F at 12 o'clock, an M at 3 o'clock an E at 6 o'clock and an R at 9 o'clock. You look lovely in your Chinoiserie dress and James Avery jewelry. Thanks for the tour, love your blue onion plate and strawflower pot, nice present for your friend.❤

the AK hallmark is Alka Kaiser. For some time Kaiser manufactured both the old Baroque Alka serving pieces like the gold-edged ones shown, and te extensive Kaiser line of chinaware and their fabulous porcelain figurines. I had the fortune of teaching in Nurnberg as my hub was stationed there 1975-1980. Every and any chance I could, I headed north of Bamburg to Bad Staffelstein to te Kaiser outlet. If you ever see a Kaiser Schonbrunn coffee or teapot (similar to green Herend) please grab for me!!!?? Been looking for 43 years! Susan in Virginia

Good question. Consignment shops pay you for your goods once they sell them. You will receive a percentage of the item's total sale price. Many require an appointment to preview items before accepting. It’s good for the seller and shop customers.

Don’t be sad about the blue onion set you left behind if you are looking for Royal Meissen. That set was made by the former Carl Teichert Factory which was renamed Meissen Oven and Porcelain Manufactory. That backstamp was used between December 1882 and December 1929. Royal Meissen blue onion is hand painted and has the crossed swords within the pattern since 1888. I am uncertain who made the blue onion plate you purchased as I have not seen that backstamp before however, it doesn’t look like any Royal Meissen backstamp I have seen before.

Thanks for your insight! The single plate I got was also made by the Meissner Ofen-und Porzellanfabrik Teichert. The backstamp is from around 1900. A lovely plate for 8 Euros. 💙

Delft blue is my weakness. In Amsterdam I found a miniature tea set with paper thin tulip shaped, pea size cups, saucers, teapot, creamer, sugar bowl and serving tray. All porcelain. All hand painted in cobalt blue. Only something 200.- Not too bad I thought. Back home it dawned upon me. That was €uros ! 💸💸💸💸 Eeeeeeeek ! 😲.....😳 Love from Norway 🇸🇯

Hi, Lady Mary Beth: I LOVED that consignment shop! I'm broke just thinking about it. I, too, am starting to collect cut to clear water and wine goblets. I remember seeing them often in the 70's, when I didn't have any extra cash: a set of four, each a different color, was usually around $150 US. So far, I've only found two in the secondary market in my area, both a burgundy or ruby, and I love them. I'm hoping to find a dark grape or cobalt.

Thank You Mary Beth... how I'd love to go shopping in that store! I don't need another piece of china or crystal, but I still keep looking and buying! Years ago a long time friend worked for Villeroy & Boch, their showroom and warehouse was within walking distance from us both, then about twice a year they had great sales were people would line up for a couple of hours to be first in the door. But both my sister and I would get to attend the "family and friends" sale the night before. What bargains.. and yes I even have a set of the chairs, in a soft butter yellow, they were a bit more than I wanted to pay as I didn't need them, but I got a good deal because I took the only 3 they had, 2 side chairs and a carver. I was told they had been used in the V & B stores for display. Thanks again, from Sydney. 🦘

You must have been to Mettlach often, the center of the V&B universe. How fun! I do remember the furniture displays at the Keravision and museum there. The most recent family and friends sales have not had the deals. The Fundgrube at the factory store sometimes has bargains. Flea markets are usually best these days. Got the dress at China Baroque. They have an XS size available. The dress label is Jaye’s Studio by Danika Herrick. I am wearing a Medium for size reference. I usually fit into a small.
