This is the best video you have done in ages. Your hacks for things like IKEA pieces are always great, but this was so much more interesting and really showed off your creative flair for things that most people would not see possibilities in. It was just so inspiring. PLEASE DO MORE OF THESE!!!!!

it is not a trunk, its a coffee table that you can store underneath or bring up the side to use as a table, or game night or something like that and they are worth hundreds. I googled it and the one I found, not as interesting, is marked down to $700 (google wood pop up coffee table)

That’s goodwill bin stores for ya! It’s the place items go before going to a landfill so they want to get rid of it which means super cheap. Most items are priced by weight. I got my prom shoes at a bin store for 30 CENTS. They’re big and dirty and FULL of stuff, but put on a mask and gloves and make a day of it and you will come out with some great finds for cheap!

Such a great idea!! Your vision of how to repurpose items in the least amount of time & money & how to post them was so educational! Definitely worth the time & effort. You basically spent $340 for the pieces & supplies & sold for $840 with a clear profit of $500. Great for a few days of shopping, cleaning & repair to posting & selling. What a great way to make extra money in a week's time span!!

Lovely to see people reviving and reusing old pieces that might otherwise find their way into landfill. The real downside is that charity shops in Australia have seen what’s happening and have increased their prices enormously! This makes it much harder for people who really need to buy their things (clothing, homewares, etc) at charity shops. I suppose it’s that market-driven mentality, but for me it goes against the philosophy of helping the needy. (Salvation Army, St Vincent de Paul, etc, please take note!)

Drew: being a business woman, I really enjoy your enthusiasm and your talent. And I understand this is a “labor of love”, however, you need to consider your time that is involved to repurpose these wonderful upcycle pieces. Just a thought. The way I think of it is that -you are paying your time with your profit. SO, Drew would have to take his profit and divide it by his time spent and that is the amount he gets paid for his time: fluid income. (Lucky he's in LA, great buyer base and no shipping costs!)

Fabulous flips! Great choice of objects. Your selling prices are very correct considering that you put some work on them and spent time to take pictures of them, listing them, talking about them, filming yourself, etc. Thank you for the trick about the caulking or gluing tool, I never thought of using this pointy thing. I just wanted to add that I like the fact that you are rather restoring these vintage pieces than changing them completely. I love keeping the vintage look of things because it tells a story and History.

Drew, for those of us who do thrifting & flipping for extra money, we have to add our labor hours to the cost of the pieces we sell. The time you took to go shopping for the pieces is part of a labor cost. The time you took bleaching the coffee table is labor hours. Shopping for the tile for the kitchen island and then putting it all together is a labor cost. Most of us flippers add $20 to $40 per hour for labor costs and we also add up our mileage for driving around shopping for the pieces and supplies. So your “profit” of over $400 would only be for me a profit of $200

Then complain when you get a lowball offer for said trunk even though you’re making more than a 200% profit. This isn’t sitting right with me.

I totally see your point, but the goodwill bins is the last place items go before they go to the landfill AKA they didn’t sell at other goodwill locations. Also the piece was in pretty rough condition. I would honestly say Drew didn’t take it from a low income buyer, he saved it from a landfill.

What I really like about this also is that it shows what goes into doing good flips. Sometimes I feel like -- no, I don't want to pay extra so a flipper can make a profit. And for something like the lamps, I would have just bought them at the thrift store and done it myself. But other things, like the kitchen island? That took real work and expertise and is absolutely worth paying someone who knows what they're doing to sell you a finished product unless you're already really good at transforming old furniture.

maybe you could donate the money? the sorry girls did that and there are so many great charities out there. and lets face it, youre not exactly struggling to make ends meet and made such an insane amount of profit with little cost... perhaps giving to people or animals in need would be cool or whatever.

Absolutely loved this one and would love to see more like this ! Would also like to see you revamp a room for someone repurposing what they already have with like a limit of purchasing three new items. 😊

I think the lamp shades are too small.

You're adorable and fun to watch. Your skills and vision of what to do with these items are worth a lot of money. It is refreshing to see a youtuber NOT paint the hell out of items with bloody chalk paint. The thrift stores are now littered with vases, tables and lamps painted with chalk paint. I guess it was a trend but I prefer this kind of flipping. Imagine getting a great deal on a piece and then getting to meet DREW when you pick up, too. Bonus! Hello from Saskatchewan.
