What great finds. Because of you my boyfriend and I enjoy thrifting with each other. Planning on going on what is called a junk jaunt in September. It is 100 miles of flea markets and garage sales in Nebraska. Happy hunting!!!!

The teddy bear with the blue bow dish is from Fingerhut about 30 ish years ago. They had a whole set to equip a kitchen. Dishes/silverware/towels etc. I went with the goose pattern

It's certainly possible - I've seen plenty of porcelain card boxes over the years. There are a couple of ways to tell the difference. A cigarette box will often have rounded interior corners (to accommodate the round cigarettes), and a cigarette box will hold a pack of cigarettes (either the size of unfiltered Camels or the size of unfiltered Pall Malls) exactly. Card boxes often held two packs of cards, and the interior corners were usually sharp instead of rounded. A card box will hold a standard pack of cards exactly, and will probably not hold a full pack of 20 cigarettes, as a pack of cards is slightly thinner than a pack of cigarettes. So your holder might very well have been designed for cards, or it might have been repurposed by a non-smoker. In either case, they are great items, and very convenient for business cards, sticky-notes, etc.

Just an FYI for everyone, while out picking be careful when flipping cups and vases over to look at the bottom. I picked up a beautiful piece, and when I flipped it over BROWN SLIME leaked out all over. Someone had used it as a spittoon.

You pan across things and I'm here yelling, "Go back! I want to see that other thing!" lol I love junk shopping! I love Carnival Glass! The blue and the green and sometimes the orange. Sue made me smile. Did all the drugs and left non for you! Great line! There's something about lamps here in my area. For a while I could find them in antique stores for reasonable prices and the Goodwills etc. Now, it's like someone bought them all there are none left on the planet! And, a good policy of no political commentary!

I went to one once like that....a light went on over the bathroom door each time. I had a good chuckle while some pre-teens were in there and the light went on and off many times.
