Haha, oh yeah, it's the adrenaline rush that keeps us flying! Totally wild twist, right? I dunno why, maybe 'cause when the goggles went black, I was still messing with the transmitter, and maybe I kinda accidentally turned the drone that way...

I totally remember your video, watched it a couple times all the way through! It actually gave me some confidence in the GPS Rescue function. I've been wondering, why wouldn't GPS Rescue work right? What's up with that unreliability?

@@Wild__FPV … in 10% of my tests the quad didn’t find the right direction for the return flight. And when you are short with battery or you are close to a ridge it can fall out of the sky before you can regain control. I know two experienced pilots who have lost their quad + Gopro on long range and they were not very amused 😵‍💫😉

Did you have a sufficient number of connected satellites in that one failed takeoff attempt? As for hitting the ridge (or any obstacle), as far as I understand, in GPS Rescue altitude mode, you should set it to the maximum altitude.

@@Wild__FPV yes, I always check the number of satellites before liftoff. My minimum number is 6 satellites, it‘s set on „max. altitude“ and on „only failsafe“. My Chim 7 always climbed to max. altitude plus 40 meters - but when it flies in the wrong direction it can hit a mountain if you already didn’t reach the the summit before activation of rescue. Maybe the problem lies in the old gps chip. My newest (analog!) Chimera 7 Pro V2 has the M10 gps chip - at the same location where my old Chim 7 locks only 7..8 satellites this gps locks more than 20 in a quarter of the time. I think this one will be much more reliable in case of rescue. Tests must be done from my side, at the moment I fight with the receiver of my analog goggles (range problems) 😂😉

Hey buddy, I reckon 6 satellites just ain't cutting it. You need a minimum of 8. Heard that from Joshua Bardwell. Oh, so M10's the real deal, that's good to hear! Still, gotta give GPS Rescue a whirl. Honestly, I'm curious about your take on analog, 'cause I'm thinking about making the switch too if it pans out. Best of luck, pal!

@@Wild__FPV Cooool, mogu si zamisliti kako je to fino a pogotovo u zoru kada se sve razbudi 😉👍👀. Ja necu ove jeseni za Velebit itd… jer idem na Isle of Man 🇮🇲 tri tjedna uspio sam cojelu trku ovaj puta i pripreme srediti. Ovo je i povjesna trka jer naš vozač je ovaj puta na stazi. Loris Majcan vozi TT uspio se kvalificirati. Mozda ga vidim pošto ću smiti u Boxove ići 😃🏆🇮🇲👍👍 Ljepi pozdrav Prijatelju 🖐

You're spot on about the stock antennas being pretty terrible. I've since snagged some TrueRC X-Air patch antennas (an upgrade for my Integra) and they're doing alright compared to the stock ones. At around the same distance (4.5 km), my video link is hitting about 20 mbps. But honestly, it's still not cutting it for me, so I'm gearing up to switch over to those 3-turn helical antennas real soon.

Good question. It is possible to install antennas on the Integra (there's a video on RU-vid). The X-Air antennas are LHCP, and the antennas on the quad are also LHCP, which means that with the stock antennas (which are linear) on the Integra, I was actually losing about 3 dB. This video was recorded about a month and a half ago, and I installed the new antennas just about 10 days ago. Unfortunately, I only flew with the X-Air once due to a bad battery, and now I'm waiting for a new battery... can't wait for new flights! :) Because from what I managed to see in that one flight with the X-Air, the signal is very strong compared to the stock antennas...
