The more time goes on, the more i love Carlos so much...The only player that makes Tennis wonderful to watch, to make crowds roar so loud and stand-up for ovation! He smiles all the time (even when he loses a point), and he's appreciated by all the players. He's unique, the kindest, like no other. That's why he became my favorite player of all time (and i like tennis since 1987...). He's way above the others, and it is just the beginning. Vamos!!!!!!

If you think Alcaraz is the only player that makes tennis wonderful to watch, you're not a tennis fan, period. There are many fine and exciting players on the tour, so you don't do them justice or give them the credit they deserve. Better not watch any matches other than the ones Carlos plays in or you'll feel underwhelmed, if not disappointed, and we don't want that.

Carlitos can literally choke half the match and still win.
@pureffm
@pureffm 9 месяцев назад
He didn't really choke. First set he was still adapting to the surface in the continuity of his match yesterday. In third set he was too playful, I think he just enjoyed the extra tennis played as an opportunity to keep refining and testing his shots, making the last adjustments. Once it was one even terms again he did a Novak in the tie break playing clutch and serious. Carlos just loves the game so much he sometimes forgets to play efficient. It is only a problem early in tournaments, though, when his game is not yet buttoned up. Today he was too greedy on the drop hots, it feels like 70% of them ended in the net. 😂😂
@HeavyTopspin
@HeavyTopspin 9 месяцев назад
Choke? When Hurkacz is on, particularly with that big serve, he's as good as any player out there. Carlitos may be the best player in the world right now, but not to the degree where he has to play poorly for another top player to beat him when playing well. Can he get to the level of peak Sampras/Federer/Nadal/Djokovic where he's clearly head and shoulders above the rest of the tour? Possibly, but he's nowhere near that point yet.

Why is it that I feel that Carlitos always tried to lose on the first sets so that he can motivate himself to improve and win in the next set and finally win the match on the last deciding set. In effect, this creates more excitement to the audience. Also, during the first set, he's trying to assess his opponent's performance and capability as a strategy to win on the succeeding sets.

Hurkacz in North America is different beast, great match!

When Alcaraz is on his back foot, he puts too much power on his shots and it gives him very little time to recover for the next shot... eg 2.20 and 2.33 He can save so much energy by changing his tactics...

Hurkacz played some of his best tennis against Carlos who was playing some of his worst and still won. Wow

I like Hurkacz's backhand. Simple and strong, very effective. In contrast, his forehand needs further improvement in my opinion.

The next generation forehand is destroying a lot of careers especially against the big 3 who never used such a stupid exaggerated backswing. Makes no sense at all. If the intent was spin, it's failed miserably. Hubie has excellent defense off it though which compensates but it's easy to see how Djokovic and Alcaraz can rush him on that wing. Carlos has a extreme semi western grip but his forehand swing is more compact so he doesn't always get rushed.

If Hurkacz will start controlling his nerves then he can defeat anybody. He also don't hold his nerves in Wimbledon against Djokovic otherwise the result could be different. I think he deserves much more then what he has achieved.

Alcaraz's game sure doesn't suit this Montreal surface yet he somehow patiently stuck to his play and squeezed out a win. I don't think at this moment there is a better active tennis player than he is.

Alcaraz è una macchina da guerra! Se gioca sempre così non vedo nessuno in grado di fermarlo nei prossimi 10 anni, FORSE solo Sinner.

carlos has really not settled and found his level yet in Toronto, flashes of it but he's gonna need time to adjust to hard courts and work up his best level but good thing is that he has time to do so! Really dreadful for stretches today, but clinched it when push came to shove. GG

Alcaraz has no competition. He's still in "development" at just 20 and playing like this already, winner of 2 GS, which one was against today's GOAT, and even Novak said that Carlos is like a fusion of the BIG3. The fixed mindsets fanfix's of the BIG3 better get used to the idea that this is a new GOAT on the making 🤝
