Thanks for coming along for the ride. I understand doing this trip comes with a certain degree of risk, and it wasn't my first preference to do this alone. But I accepted and embraced it. After an anxious couple of days getting underway, I've settled into the trip. A long way to go yet. Excited to share it with you all. If you haven't watched the first series of " The Blue Highway" the whole playlist is right here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rwrEiId8MgI.html Stay safe out there! big love. Az

Have you ever considered taking coconuts that have just started to grow out to those largely barren sand cays that you are travelling too. It would be awesome to plant two to three per sand cay to take these sand islets to their next step. I planted some three to four per Islet that I visited to the North West of Groote Islandt and White Islet in the Gulf of Carpentaria. NT. Love to go back to see how they went???

That handspear reminds of an atlatl. We made one when I was working at a hunting lodge in Florida in the off season of yachting. We actually had a client come down and he wanted to try it, and had us film him using it. So he comes roaring out of the woods at a sounder of wild pigs, atlatl raised over his head, screaming like he's in a movie...slips on some wet cow sh!t and goes rolling around, breaks the spear and launcher. It was pretty hilarious except to him. He c,aimed We ruined his hunting trip because he twisted his ankle. We tried talking him out of it

I’m nervous about you going this alone! I always love the video and you had some incredible reef-fish on this episode. Thanks for the labeling. Too bad the birds get all freaked out when you’re on the sand keys. Stay safe!

Epic vid as ever! Your atlatl might be different with the heavier spear tip, but generally you want to 1. Take a big step with the front foot 2. Focus on keeping the very tip aiming at the target (forget the back end) 3. Don’t deliver any power to the throw until the 2nd half of the motion 👌

In between baby sitting for 3 three days a week for eight and a half years. By My Self, I was able to get away for three months during 2011 and then four months during 2013 towing a 8.3 meter lockable half cabin tin boat; with a 3.6 meter tinny on the roof. I was 61 years old for the second 2013 trip to the Gulf of Carpentaria, King Ash Bay near Borroloola. During 2011: I motored around the Sir Edward Pellow group of Islands, then down as far as Calvert River and then 2013 around the Sir Edward Pellow group of Islands and then up around the North Western Islands around Groote Eylandt, up past Blue Mud Bay, then back again. These trips I did all By My Self. I was held up for a whole week due to very rough weather in an inlet in Blue Mud bay. I built a 190 litre freezer, 140 litre fridge, four large solar panels on the hard top, powering house batteries. With 800 litres of diesel, 80 litres of petrol and 130 litres of water, dry food and towing the tinny, I could only manage displacement speed between 5 to 8 knots. That is all I planned for. With proper planning, you can go with the minimum gear and supplies or sort of maximum such as I did. My trip was 20 years in planning. Good luck.

A great video clip of the Barramundi Cod; so compliant with being videoed. Although classified as an iconic species on the GBR & protected now. If coral trout get a 4 star eating rating, I would give the Barramundi Cod a 4 1/2 star eating rating. Some impressive underwater videography more generally..

For people who haven't seen what coral looks like it really doesn't do justice to the beauty of clear water and the vibrant colour coral has. I was lucky enough to spend about a month in far north Queensland on a boat and for the whole time it was glassed out and the water was crystal clear. It is impossible to do justice to the colour of pristine coral reef. Is it possible to capture that on film?
