Hi Beth. I'm 71 this year, a couple of those bike where new models where I was a teenager. In England 🏴 you get use to riding in the wet Regards, reggie the rural rider
Hi Reg, i'm catching you up, just 3 years behind you. Also enjoyed that Throttle Co. bike meet. Many bikes there that I remember and would look good in my garage now. Enjoy your rain.., the snow has only just gone out here in my region here in Switzerland. Greets from an expat, Steve.
If you enjoyed that Motorcycle shop meet up and the old bikes, check out "Road Worrier Moto" (yes the spelling is right). She is the Boss at Throttle Co. and runs her own Y T channel.
Double rainbow 🌈 is very cool 😎 Yeah greasy / red roads can be nasty and I agree avoid it where possible. Cool purple grips. That dog would lick u all day lol. The Enfield Musket blk/red is amazing. Take that home. The Honda CB550 Four in green and Harley in blue with the red helmet were cool too 👍 Nite time riding looked fun. Yeah I honk at crazy peeps. Great vid 📽️
Glad you had a good time. I won't go riding if it's already raining, but if I'm already out and get caught in the rain, I break out the rain suit and keep on riding. Stay safe out there.
The Shadetree effect is rubbing off on BBB. After riding dirty with no plates in Florida, now she gets back home and she's running reds. She's going outlaw, I tell ya! Re: getting cut off - forget the horn AND the rev bombing, and concentrate on preparing to take evasive action. Chances are, if they've got the windows up and the tunes even half cranked, unless you've installed an air horn they're not going to hear you anyway. Worry about getting on the brakes and getting ready for an emergency swerve if needed.
Good deal 👌 this how rainbow is caused by sunlight and atmospheric conditions. Light enters a water droplet, slowing down and bending as it goes from air to denser water
Use the horn and finger gestures! I think Odessa has a lil of the Crusty Glide rubbin off on her since your trip?!? The Bike night looked like fun! Thanks for takin us with ya! Shiny Side Up! 🤘🏻🇺🇸🌴
Noticed that you’re on the west side. Grew up there. In Groveport now. Hopefully we’ll catch up somewhere/sometime down the road. Enjoyed watching you spending time with The Shadetree Army!
Hi Beth an old trick from an old biker, when getting close to a junction weave your bike about, you don't have to go mad, just weave it about a bit, this will get you noticed by most car drivers, when sometimes they are blind to bikes. Keep up the good work.
That Enfield Musket V-Twin was featured on Jay Leno's Garage. 7:08 Makes sense that it's there, the guy who made it does some work for Throttle Co. He built that engine from scratch.
I've got loud pipes AND my buffalo brand horn is so loud it'll just about put dents in their car. Ha ha Going to a local event with food and music is my favorite thing. If I can get a motorcycle ride, a bbq sandwich and a mountain dew I'm good for the day. I'm in western Ohio doing the same.
So if you don't already know the rainbow is created by the sunlight hitting the water (rain) at exactly the right angle to make it display the colors the same way when you pass light thru a prism the light splits into the colors of the rainbow on the wall. There is your science lesson for the day people :)
when someone cuts me off, I bang off the rev limiter a few times and then lament to myself how dumb that was to do, and how little that did to help society. I then quietly pull over, turn my bike off, and ponder some of life's more important questions, like why am i a slave to the wendy's spicy chicken sandwich. love a good midwest spring. in chicago, it could easily be snowing right now. thanks for the video!
My tips for riding in rain: #1 Buy a good quality rainsuit that fits easily over ALL your riding gear so you can put it on by yourself on the roadside. #2 Find a waterproof pair of overboots or galoshes to keep your feet (mostly) dry. #3 Go to hunting store and buy pair of neoprene gloves that duck hunters use. They will keep your hands dry AND warm AND allow you to actually operate your bike safely. You're welcome!
I live in S.W. Ks it's so good to be able to ride my bike. your question do I mind riding on wet roads? Nope I would rather ride on wet roads compared to gravel covered roads any day. Great video keep up the good work. I make model railroad videos I really should make some videos of my KZ750 chopper.
Beth, I'm with you on the dog part. If there's a dog, or a cat, it's a great day. But that was one of those sneaky killer dogs. They don't bite, instead they try and frown you with their kisses. 😉
"Well, a double rainbow is a phenomenon of optics that displays a spectrum of light due to the sun shining on droplets of moisture in the atmosphere. Does that explain it?" 🌈 🌈
The plan was to go but the storms kinda scared me out of it. Bike with brand new tires and on a bike I’ve ridden less than 20 miles total. I did go out a bit after the first round when the roads dried up but stayed close to home.
Newest new rider here I’m trying to get the nerve up to ride in heavy traffic @ 65 mph what kind of bike do you have as you mentioned new tires?I got to get some before long for my cruiser a 2007 Honda Shadow Sabre VT1100
@@Recycledhooligan I just sold my Sportster and bought a 06 Dyna Low Rider. It’s had a hard life in the garage with under 7k miles. The tires were dated 2011-2012. So I just had a set of Michelin commander 3’s put on. Was only about $15 more than the oem Dunlop’s. So far I like them but new tires need 60-100 miles to “scrub” in. They can be a bit slick until then.
@@Recycledhooligan traffic can be scary with people passing you. You have to take the bull by the horns and pick you lane and speed and let everyone else do what they will. If you got a small group to ride with it can make that first ride easier as they can “shield” and guide you on and off the highway.
@@MyDunnLife good to know about the tires I’m told I should get some by the end of the year they’re not too bad yet just worn some as I said new rider I don’t have anyone to help at all I bought this bike with the belief that the guy I got it from was gonna help me introduce me to the life of motorcycling but he got a Harley & said to hell with helping me,then my bro in law said pretty much the same thing, finally I got thrown out of an HD riding school for dropping their bike too hard, whatever that means still pissed they wouldn’t give me a refund, don’t feel sorry for me cause after letting my bike sit for 2 months I watched a few RU-vid videos got on my bike praying every time & teaching myself am I perfect nope I’m learning I pull over when I get overwhelmed or tired venturing out more every day I’ve logged 70 miles in a week & a half provided it doesn’t rain going a little further each day today I crossed the highway for gas & back I take breaks today’s task was curves now as I’ve said I got to get down the highway FYI it’s downhill & of course back up hill with heavy traffic going 65 plus I will do this task & hopefully live to tell the tale,I pray before every ride or turn onto a different road I also pray for anyone to ride with hasn’t happened yet but the Lord will provide on his time till then I’m a gang of 1 talk about riding through this world all alone I’m experiencing 43 almost 44 years of it again don’t feel sorry for me I make do I love the 1 shadetree video where they were teaching a female new rider just how you said thanks again for all the information & reply
@@Recycledhooligan Taking short trips and changing it up and experiencing new roads is a great first step. It’s disappointing to hear the riding academy did that. That’s what they are there to do is teach new riders. I was lucky growing up I had some experience on dirt bikes and lots of BMX and mountain biking. When I first got on a motorcycle (not mine) I took it up and down the road I knew like the back of my hand. I got to the point where I ventured out further and decided it was time to get my own. I bought the Sportster (the one I just sold) and rode it for 7 years. Just keep riding and it will come in time. Ride Safe and Ride Often.
Hi Beth, glad your back in Ohio. I'm in Indiana. Ride a 2019 FXDR. Waiting for a first bike night here! I want to go to Ace Cafe when I make it down there. You coming to Indiana for any rides? R/S hoping to meet you. Take care.
Use your horn and keep the throttle for controlling your motorcycle. Drivers won't react quickly enough to rev bombs and it's louder to those behind you.
Double rainbow lasted about 15 min, an for definitely the temperature dropped a good 15 deg, for a good nite to ride, here's a video idea for ya, your doing the other sporty, how many bike recycling yards are left in ohio? They are a great place to just rummage through.
It would be so awesome if you found out about that obviously custom "Enfield Musket" and do a feature on it.. Royal Enfield haven't made a V-twin. I bet it sounds wicked.
The Musket is one of Aniket’s custom creations! He’s made several versions of the Musket, depending on the source Royal Enfield. They’re made by taking two top ends from Royal Enfields and custom casting the bottom case. There is a Jay Leno’s Garage episode on him! I also wrote an article for our blog on his Musket 998. He’s a special projects mechanic for us at Throttle too! throttlecompany.com/the-musket-v-twin-two-hearts-that-beat-as-one/
Hi biker beth are you related to warrior Moto by any chance. I only recently discovered her channel last month and thought hey I'm sure biker babe Beth been there also where you took those great Christmas pictures with your bike. Anyway I was wondering if you guys would ever meet up if you were not related. Opps that is road warrior Moto 🙄
Please tell me I'm crazy and there's nothing to what I'm thinking? Is there a motorcycle industry trade group that's trying to drum up business by paying people, particularly women, to be motorcycle v-loggers? Here's what I notice that seems odd : 1) High number of moto-vloggers popping up, all in the last 6 months or so, with new social media channels 2) Like 9 out of 10 of the new moto-vloggers appearing on social media are women 3) All new moto vloggers that I see are ostensibily small-time amateur enthusiasts, but have professional logos made up, and even clothes with their logos on it (?) 4) New motorcycle vloggers are making videos with promotional tie-ins to various motorcycle businesses 5) All the new vloggers are totally new to biking, like, they pretty much got their bike about on the same day they opened their new social media platforms. Not like any of them been biking for some years and then decided, you know what, I want to start making vidz about it. 6) All the new moto vloggers all seem to make and post social media videos on the same, once-a-week schedule. I've heard Harley Davidson in particular embarked on a strategy to "create new riders" and "reach new demographics". But beyond just Harley, I think the whole industry has a problem selling motorcycles b/c they just aren't as popular right now, as they used to be. Makes me wonder if something is afoot with all this new motovlogging appearing of the ether. Featuring women, inexperienced riders, professionally designed graphics and clothes, business promo tie-ins, and scheduled video drops.
No idea for 1&2, but: #3 Graphic design is very easy to come by nowadays and some of us are coming from the creative field already. #4 hustle. #5 I have to disagree the most with this one. Most women Moto vloggers I’m aware of have been riding for YEARS before starting a channel. #6 posting schedule, that’s just how RU-vid works. Easily Google searched to determine how to best work the algorithm. I bet we ALL wish we had sponsorships and we’re being paid to do all the work that is a RU-vid channel. 🤣
