Anyway, I’m very grateful for this video! This will work out perfectly. I have a vehicle with the 3 way switch setup for throttle presets but didn’t think to use it for drag brake. Much appreciated.
Thanks for the comment! We are all parasites here on RU-vid (me included) because we consume informations some other guys are willing to share for free. This is not the part that "frustrates" me, because giving away informations is the whole purpose of running a YT channel, at least in my opinion. But other aspects of this game are. I found your video very help full, Not everyone is drone pilot using Edge Tx, I have been an Kyosho KT331P tx user which is a car designated radio, from my experince with Radiomaster interection it seems to me this product is only good for those folk using Edge tx for Drones. People like me are going to struggle a lot with this radio. As for the Drag Brake part - on my Castle esc we have an option called drag brake which kicks in the minute the tx goes to neutral and we can set the strenght of drag brake. When this activates the car goes into a slow down and stop state. What i feel missing is the brake when we tap the trigger once forward. and double tap to go into reverse is also pretty slow. these are the feature i would expect as a car person to be in built in to the radio by default... and this is where Edge TX and Radio master have failed for me ( personal outlook )
Thank you very much for watching and your comment! Regarding the feature you mentioned in the comment I have to admit that I do not fully understand what you mean with that. You correclty stated that the drag brake feature is provided by the ESC. The fact, that you cannot immediately go from forward to reverse is - I guess - due to the fact, that the ESC is set to FORWARD/BRAKE/REVERSE. In this case, the car has to come to a full stop before you can continue reversing. This has nothing to do with the radio. If you do not want this behaviour, then set the ESC to FORWARD/REVERSE. Then the car goes from forward to reverse the moment you push the trigger. The feature shown in the video is about the throttle output of the radio not going abruptly to the neutral point but with a degree of slow down. With this the car slows down more natural (if you like it that way). And such a feature is not very easyily set up on every radio, especially the lower "spec'ed" ones. Wouldn't that only delay time to brake? I recall the radiolink rc6 had this issue with throttle speed if you used any delay it affected both up and down travel speed and would mean you wouldn't have any brake input till that reaches 0.
Well, you have immediate control over the brakes but you are right: the full brake is only available after the slow down time as passed. I guess I have to investigate a better solution for this.
@arminrc I mean the tutorial is correct it does successfully put a slow down in throttle release but I don't think drag brake would be an accurate term for it as drag brake usually on esc means it holds certain brake without reversing so you have no coasting ability so crawlers don't roll down hill
Dude these videos have been excellent! I know EdgeTX from the FPV side of things but a few of the people I regularly fly with have recently gotten into RC cars too and its a totally different beast. I'm used to altering flight characteristics entirely in a model's firmware, but with ground vehicles the radio dictates almost everything (gyros being an exception but let's not go there.) TL;DR these videos have been immense help in getting the MT12 to work the way I want it to, thank you for making them. Radiomaster should throw some love your way.

This is great! I'm going to try modifying it to adjust the throttle output (speed) of the model using the SD switch. Crawl, medium(for the kids), all out just for fun!
That’s an extremely disappointing to learn that the first video of you I have found about mt12 will be the last one. I have quickly check your other ones and I have to admit they are great too.
Yea, I just figured out how to add a drag brake to channel 2 that is only active when the throttle is centered and the S2 pot is utilized to determine the weight. Pressing the throttle or the brake disengages it so is only active as a "drag" brake feature when youre off the throttle. It also utilizes the slow up feature so its not an abrupt action
I for one really appreciated these videos. I’ve been avoiding my Rc’s because I struggled to figure out the MT12. Your videos helped a lot. Please reconsider, because it will help many future mt12 beginners.

Here on RU-vid we are all some sort of parasite I think. We (me included) consume information's for free. But I guess that is just the way it is and once you have made your peace with it, it is alright. 😉

3 position switch below one to change throttle rate per position like one for speedrun, one for bashing and one for low throttle. do you have any other social account like facebook or insta??
