There are very few ktm owners who actually ride sensibly, you are one of them. Most of the ktm owners are just bunch of immature kids wanting to open the throttle everywhere. Subscribed.
That’s how a review should be. Devoid of loud background scores, ample information about the test environment and precise targeting of possible users. Fantastic review, keep it up Oggy F
Using the Alpha H1 on the CBR250R for over 2000 kms so far, still no noticeable wear and the grip while cornering once the tyre has warmed up is insane. never buying any other tyre for a sub 400 cc bike again.
This is my first view over ,.all Oggy F vlogs For those who are new to Oggy's channel ..(should have this in their knowledge).. unlike other famous Moto loggers Oggy goes through all of his vlog comments and replies them as well , as he did reply for 2 of my comments which i think are not useful .so make sure your comments to be informative, as this channel seems it is all about sharing knowledge to bikers. comment may not be appreciative but should sound decent. but one thing , First impression = i like Oggy's way of communication, as he will make it up to point , and ...he is as grippy as APOLLO ALPHA H1 types over his passion and what he speaks.
brilliant intro line dude !! thats so sensible.. thats why i love your vids... i took your advice and slapped the h1 on my dominar... btw fellow youtuber tip - you need to use video specify tags only when you upload ...
Much needed review video bro, every one is suggesting to use these tyres but none of them reviewed it after using them , a huge thanks from all rc390 owners end
I know these tires might be an overkill for my 10-year-old FZ16 but these tires seem to be very near to the stock tire. Thanks for the comprehensive review of the tire. Got a lot of info about it. It made me confident that it will be good to go on my bike.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. No harm in getting a set of tyres that performs better than the stock ones..they are after all, the one thing that make contact with the road and help you brake, corner and accelerate safely. Glad the video was helpful. Stay safe ✌🏻😊
Apollo alpha H1 is the best tyre for rc 390. but they have also same punture issue bcz they have also soft compound. i ride my bike on Apollo more than 3k kms & its vgood in handling & stability.
Other motovloger: first make review video .. after use product Oggy f : first use product ...then make video . Your a still my fvrt motovloger Love u oggy
I recommend you to try Michelin Pilot Road 5 which is a sport touring rain tyres, so as the name tells it's a sport touring which means the tyre can last easily 30,000 to 35,000 kms because heavy silica hard compound at the middle and also the side of the tyre is soft compund and also the treads on the side has been removed a bit compared to road 4 to improve the cornering ability and also tyre has a 2ct+ design which means that the centre of the tyre and the sidewall have the same hard compound to help increase tyre life and cornering confidence and also the wet grip on this tyre is the best than most tyres, this tyre has water reservoir to help dissipate water even at high speed, acceleration, braking, but still u want u to watch some videos on youtube and consider the tyre it is usually double cost as a mrf rev z but this tyre can last double the life.
@@anthonyjithin doesnt matter which. It comes with 'H' speed rating and cant handle 390's acceleration. Best option is metzeller M5 or M7. Second best is apollo alpha H1. Check for speed rating 'w'. It will be printed on the side of the tyre just beside rim
Good that you uploaded this video...... I was about to buy tyres for my bike tomorrow.....thnx for that.... but tell me how did you mount camera for rear video 5:46 ?
Hello Oggy! Loved the review! The way you speak and explaon everything is just on point. One question I had though was how do the Michelin Pilot Streets fare against these. Which one of the two would you go for?
Thank you. The pilot street is a hard compound tyre and woul last very long. Performance wise, these are better but you'd get more life out of the pilot streets
Thank you for the prompt response Oggy. The pilot streets aren't really available everywhere these days due to the virus and the import ban. They're selling at about 14K-15K a set which rather seems a bit overpriced to me especially given the fact that they were the most affordable premium tires at a point in time. Not just that they're selling 2019 stock now which isn't advisable I've heard. On the contrary the H1s now come at a price tag just a little north of 10K a set which sounds like a steal to me (both tyre quotations from Kwikfix India) Do you think spending the premium amount on the Pilot Streets is worth it?
Love the video. But more importantly, love your English as well. Do you an approximate figures on the tyre mileage (personal experience or claimed figures by manufacturer) ?
i think your rear tyre is mounted in opposite direction.. the small 3 lined arrow shape should be pointing in the direction of forward rotation, i guess. Now I don't know if it makes any difference, or it can be fitted either way. But that water channel system must work in a particular direction to work at full efficiency. I got mine installed today same as yours, and its bugging me since.. Not even apollo store owner knows which direction it should be mounted.
You're right. The arrow on the tyre wall needs to point in the direction that the tyre rotates when the motorcycle is in motion. I checked and it's mounted correctly. The tread pattern on the front and the back tyre are designed differently cause they handle different responsibilities. I remember reading an article on motorcycle.com about it.
Very well packed review ! How long would these last ? Is there any Buzz sound that comes from tyres ? Basically looking tyre for the dominar ? Any suggestions ? Thank you ! Truly enjoyed the entire review !
Thank you Uday. I've been using them for around 8k kms now and they haven't shown any significant signs of wearing out. No buzzing noises.. Though my 2015 rc isn't exactly silent enough for me to listen to anything else 🤷♂️. These could suit the Dominar well too... Also consider the Michelin road 5s. They are a great set of tyres too.
Hi Oggy, great review. I own a 2014 RC390, currently have Michelin Pilot Street, not happy with the performance. Looking to change to either Metzeler M5 or Apollo Alpha H1, I am looking for performance, tire life and cost does not matter, could you please suggest?
Hey Roy. While the metzellers are undoubtedly great performance tyres, they're a softer compound and wear out quicker than other tyres. The Apollos offer a great balance between performance and longevity and perform well in the rains too. I've seen a few Indian California Superbike School coaches use the Apollos on their personal race bikes... I think that itself is a testament to how well they perform 😊. Stay safe bud ✌🏻
@@OggyF Thanks Oggy, my rides are very short, within Goa itself, and very few. So tyre life is not major concern. Looking for best grip between those two choices. Also saw your review on powertronics ecu, great job 👍 contemplating on that as well...
Hey Oggy, how are the tyres holding out now? Planning to change the Pirelli Rosso 2 tyres on my Mojo and these look to be a good replacement, especially since I was happy with the Pirellis. Would definitely appreciate a response from you or anyone who has used the Apollos for a while. Thanks.
Still running strong. Have completed close to 8k kms on it. No complaints. Also consider the Michelin Pilot Road 5 tyres. Tested them on the track at the new RR310 launch and they were really good too. Not sure about wet grip with them but they should hold up well too.
I think these are at par with Metz, maybe slightly edging them out but I am not able to gauge where they stand with the Pirelli Diablo Rosso II.. both set of users vouch for their tires and call it "the best"
cannotthinkofoneatth I have used both Metzelers and Pirelli Diablo Rosso II both and technically speaking, both are the same thing, metzeler is owned by Pirelli Group and they both are almost same thing.
@@sanjunyk yeah.. but it's hard to tell that way.. it's like saying both Kia and Hyundai are same.. which they essentially are but they are not too.. but since you have used both, you might be right..
cannotthinkofoneatth technically they are basically the same thing and in many places, Rosso II comes standard with the Duke 390. Obviously, the company is different but the use case and the performance of them are ditto same. Cheers mate 🤗
Hello oggy!!! So basically i need a new set of tyres for my duke 390 and i cant really choose so Apollo alpha H1 are better or ceat zoom rad X1? And I'm a bit tight on budget
First link in the description has a tyre selector which allows you to choose your bike model and tyre size and it recommends the tyre that would suit your bike. Check it out 😊
Hir Sir Mujhe bhi mery RS200 PULSAR m Apollo alfa H1 tyre lagvana h But 150mm ka tyre bike swingarm se touch ho raha h Sir mujhe aajkal m hi tyres lagvane h Sir please help me Can i contact u
This morning my driver told me ur tyre is gone and I looked and realised it n then I asked how long would it last he told 2000 then (phat gayi) he asked what happened I told the new tyre cost 8k and 16k for set and he is hospital friends pray for him
Haven't used the Michelins on my bike but had used their pilot sportysbon my r15 and was very disappointed with their wet weather performance. The Apollos worked very well in the rain.
The Streets are hard compound tyres that will give you a lot of life but may compromise on the performance. The Apollos will give you a good blend of both. I wouldn't suggest changing just one tyre at a time though.. It's better to change both together or stuck to the same model as the tread patterns at the front and back are designed to work together.
Hey oggy! I was wondering which tyre u would recommend as u have used both ceat zoom rad X1 and the alpha H1. I'm confused for which I should go for cause the stock tyre on the R15 V3 aren't the best 😅
I just installed it(rc 390)After changing the tyres, the handling feels completely different from metz! Like it was different when turning side to side and also when cornering. Is this normal or something wrong?
Hi I had planned to buy husqvarna vitpilen 401 & was waiting since year & half by nw company has launched 250 , So can I buy vitpilen 250 are shld i go for duke 390 . I undstnd the specs are more in duke 390 bt wntd sumthg different can u plz guide me assp
Thanks for the question. While I haven't had a chance to ride the vitpilen yet since the media rides were cancelled, I personally feel that the Duke would be the better buy if it's not your first motorcycle. While the vitpilen may stand out of the crowd, what matters to me more is that I would probably get bored of the performance of the 250 sooner than I would that of the 390. Just my 2 cents ✌🏻
The owners manual will give you an indication of what the ideal pressure should be. On the RC, it's 29/29 solo and they specify how much you have to increase if there's a pillion
@@OggyF but in owners manual it is 25 for front 100/80 and for rear it is 29 for my 140/70 for my previous stock tyre but as i have chage it to 110/70 and 150/60, now also should we follow the tyre pressure given in owners manual which is for stock tyres ?
@@rahulkumawat115 I'd suggest sticking with those tyre pressures to begin with. If you feel that the handling is a bit sluggish, then go up by a couple PSI
While the M7RR was a great tyre, metzellers are now way more expensive than they were when I bought them a year ago. The Apollos performed very well in the rain and for the kind of riding I do, I never found any situation where they lacked the grip I needed. If you don't want to break the bank on good tyres, the H1 is a good buy.
