Typically in Jewish tradition they are used in a Nigun, or a wordless melody, to substitute for real words. Yai nai and lai are the usual ones. It’s really cool to know that lai refers to song or hymn etc...!

Looking at your profile picture I’d say it’s kinda normal, you seem like you’re going through puberty..but after that I’m pretty sure with lot of voice training and just singing your heart all day ..you can get to this level..
It takes lots of practice and trial and error to get good at ANYTHING, so as long as you put effort into what you like to do and get better at it; you'll succeed at whatever it is you do, without much trouble, soon; you'll feel it SO natural that you'll have never thought it to not be part of your everyday life. That's just how good talent is made, through taking effort, AND time. Even the pros had to work to get to where they're at, no one's truly a natural at anything until they try their hands and show what they can do. That's just the way it is. X3
Your an amazing talent and singer...but the light that shines thru your eyes because of the meaning in this song ...the meaning it has for the soul...this is why your an artist...a greater one than most any on the radio...your voice..incredible..your energy intoxicating..makes you feel exactly the feeling that is primitive and timeless as in this song....as is the message...wether someone is religious or not...how can one not see the obvious message of this song...once again.. But with all those li li lis, I felt like I was back in the synagogue (we sang those all the time in prayers when not singing in Hebrew or English) heck you’d fit right in with the congregation. This might sound stupid, but the last note he sang when his mouth was fully open? Seriously he had the best mouth posture I’ve ever seen on someone who isn’t an opera singer. The better you are at creating resonance, the louder you can sing, and the more powerful that range becomes over time.(I know this my dad sings opera and trained me. I’m really not that good but my DAD, dear lord. He will burst your eardrums. Even without a microphone)
