Lynne holly johnson skating to Melissa Manchesters through the eyes of love from the film ICE CASTLES, I absolutely love both the film and the song, hope you do too, please rate.
This is, perhaps, the greatest 9+ minutes of feeling, joy and success in the movies, Perfect music, perfect choreography and perfect acting.I'm glad they caught it all on film.
Even after 30+ years, the beauty and artistry of this routine is still evident. Absolutely beautiful. And to think someone got the "bright" idea to do a remake. Nothing can match Lynn-Holly Johnson's hauntingly beautiful performance.
Never knew why they thought they needed to do a remake. I have yet to see the logic and "improvement" of any remakes. Maybe "King Kong", but most are lousy and should have never been done.
@@texasrockshillcountry6574 Then you didn't see Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with Michael Caine & Steve Martin, which was a remake of Bedtime Story starring David Niven & Marlon Brando. In any case, the same person who wrote & directed the original movie did the remake, so I guess he felt he had the idea to improve on it.
the most beautifull angel ever,i was 6.5 years old when this movie came out in 1978, i thank god for lynn holly johnson, she,s the owner of my heart ever since!
1978....i was in college and this movie, the song, the excellent performance of Lynn Holly Johnson gave me goosebumps. 2011...as I watch this youtube , again I still get the same goosebumps. The impact of the soundtrack on perfectly-timed skating performance of Johnson is so perfect. My all time 1978 movie. ..still makes me tear-eyed.
Love this song and the movie. It still moves me to tears after all these years. FYI- Robby Benson produces and directs on the stage and on TV. And he was the voice of the Beast in Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
I loved this movie. They filmed part of it in my hometoen of White Bear Lake, MN and in minneapolis, MN. My brother and sister were extras. seeing that it just came out on disc this year, i will be getting it very soon.
I forgot why I'm a huge fan of Mellisa Manchesters - what a voice! Wonder what ever happened to Robby Benson? He was a great actor back in the day too. This film is a fav & missed it on TV tonite so thx 4 allowing me 2 cry again!
Just watched this again after many years and it brings back all the emotions and yes even tears!! What an amazing soundtrack, story, and what a powerhouse voice Melissa Manchester has!! Brilliant!!
@BRUC2016 I SO AGREE and I LOVE all of those movies/themes you have listed... and John Barry is one of my movie score heros, love his stuff... brings out the "emotion" and "poignancy" of our movies, makes us FEEL it more I think... just Beautiful, and so many timeless scores... they just don't make alot of things like they used to, but I guess that is the way it is and I suppose as it goes our children and grandchildren will say the same thing about their era in time... (:
This is the very first time I watch this touching and beautiful movie!!! What I find so curious is that I had already listened to its theme song many and many times before today, and never, ever knew it was the theme of a move, and I have to confess I didn't know the movie...A wonderful movie, a beautiful story!!! And Melissa Manchester is one of the greatest voices I listened to in my life!!
Yes even as I started watching this video I am already crying. I JUST LOVE THE SONG AND THE MOVIE, The famous phrase for this movie I think is when what's his name? said..... "We forgot about the flowers". Thank you for posting
I love the theme song from this movie. I watched the remake of this movie recently and i was moved. Even though i never watched the original, i'm sure it was just as moving as well. Movies like this that feature a person having all the talent in the world, almost losing it all, and then having to fight back from adversity, are the best ones. They inspire people that no matter what comes your way, you can overcome it by having those around that really love you and want the best for you.
I was never much on skating but Lynn-Holly's version along withthe fantastic music was........FANTASTIC. ! This what ? 30 years later? Excellent. This should go down in history as one of the most touching scenes in movie history...Congratulations to all.
Every time I watch this ending I think it's one of the best ever. I used to think Westside Story had the best, although sad, ending, How do you top this? Where can you go from the best? The music, the acting, the timing, the editing and most of all a performance that should have gotten an Oscar. Way to go Lexi !
Saw the original movie, loved it. Love; Looking through the eyes of love by Melissa Manchester, makes me very emotional, I cry, but now it's with a great deal more wisdom. thank you so much for posting it.
god...i love the song and also the movie. i first watched this when im 6 or 7yo and since then i never forgotten it. so i bought a copy 2yrs ago and im just 23.
I loved this movie and its soundtrack so much...Lynne holly johnson and robby benson just made it real great on screen during those times...so touching and inspiring...Lynn's performance was indeed amazing...
Like hell, Melissa is simply the best. What a perfect movie score for this film. If I had one wish it might be for a time machine to return to the days when the great ones were performing. They will never pass this way again and I feel sorry for the ones that have to settle for the cheap crap today.
i am so in love with robbie benson ..why oh why didnt i find one like him ? *( i wont stop until the day i die He is my ideal inside and out beautiful human................ being !
I really love this movie. Hope that other producer make a movie like this who will touch the heart of many. Every time I've seen this movie i cried..So fantastic also with the lyrics of songs. I always sing this song every time we have a video karaoke, lol.
It was our wedding song also. 35 years , 3 kids and some grandkids and we're still going strong. Guess it was a good pick. The end of this movie still makes me cry everytime❤
