Monet is astounding. I've grateful to have seen many of his work in art exhibitions around the USA and in France. Though this video does not have some of my Monet favorites, I still think it is great. Great music too. if I were stranded on a desert island and could have only one artist's pictures it would be Monet's works!
This piece is one of my favourites....La Cathedrale Engloutie is called. I remember listening to it in the album 'Debussy - Clair de lune' performed by François-Joël Thiollier. Absolute bliss!!!
Congrats from old europe, brenda! Wonderful work, very honorable that you bring art into YT in that lovely way. I will put it on my Vidlog to impress people ;-) Next time i msut have a look at the venice sunrise an much more....
Monet, Beetoven, ...........Socrates, ..... in my opinion the 3 greatest CREATERS of thought, art, and culture.......the western world has ever produced......
It was Monet in my youth who inspired me to become a painter. Now, as an old man, I look back at his paintings and, after a not uneventful life, can say that I have seen nothing more beautiful or more perfect in all of creation.
I agree that Monet was an awe insiring artist and I do adore his works. But for being stranded, I will take Van Gogh. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it. Peace.
People -and by "people" I mean critics and art historians- seem to forget (or never notice) that Monet was a superb draftsman. Look at the caricatures he did at seventeen; they demonstrate considerable precocity, comparable to that of La Trec at that age.
