This was absolutely amazing. That intro, is one of the sickest riffs I've heard from through the eyes of the dead and I've been a fan since the beginning. My first tattoo, was on my left bicep and it's "through the eyes of the dead" in this creepy lettering. Out of the 3 tats I have, that's the one I regret the least. Stoked for this album!
That must mean you're incredibly biased, because I highly doubt they will ever top Skepsis, and this is not a good start for Through the Eyes of the Dead. Sorry. It's just not a good song.
It's not an opinion. It's a fact. The riff structure and drum fills are basic and boring, and if you know music theory to even a basic extent, you'd realize this sounds like it was made by a child. And it's extremely disappointing, and doesn't compare to the structure and perfection of Skepsis.
His technique wasn't the best but he's always going to be their best vocalist. His phrasing, his emotion, his lyrics.... the imagery that man could create that fit the music so well can never be replicated.
wow ! how massive ! This year is is SUCH A DEFINITIVE year for this genre and i love it. A generic giant fell (come on SS was getting pretty generic, and Doris has ruined SS forever. Then, they lost their fans when they said the genre is dead ...). Now EVERYONE ELSE is collectively proving them wrong by putting out their BEST albums. Lorna shore, fit for an autopsy, (emmure.... maybe) , signs of the swarm, aversions crown, rings of saturn, shadow of intent, throught the eyes of the dead, slaughter to prevail, humanity's last breath, oceano, and ANGELMAKER !!!!!! ... ( leave a comment if i missed any ...PLZ) amazing !!!! all have just devoured our bodies and our anui (plural of anus). I didn't prepare my body for this year.
I actually didnt really like this... Its not that it wasnt good, it just feels like nothing is ever gonna be able to surpass Malice. Nothing has even come close to it since then.
