Introducing the second episode of Through the Garden Gate, a new series where we have a nosy around wildlife gardens up and down the country. In this episode, we show you around the garden of wildlife filmmaker, photographer and podcaster Jack Perks, whose work you might have seen on Springwatch, The One Show and Countryfile.
Jack is known for his love of fish, reptiles and amphibians, which has led to a garden with not one, not two, but six ponds. Jack reveals how he planned and created this watery wildlife haven in only two years and shares his wildlife gardening tips.

ABOUT THE WILDLIFE GARDEN PROJECT
Imagine if everybody in the UK made just a few small changes in their garden to help our British wildlife. Think of the giant patchwork of habitats that could be created, all the new homes that could be formed, and all the mouths that could be fed. And you can do as much or as little as you like!
Here at The Wildlife Garden Project, we make video tutorials on things you can do in your garden to help wildlife: everything from making your own bird box to growing a wildflower meadow. Our website is also full of wildlife gardening tips and advice, as well as information on the species you might find in your garden.

Would one big pond be advantageous in any way e.g. to attract certain creatures such as bats?

Fantastic garden, hedgehogs would benefit from a wildlife garden like that but with the dog it probably wouldn't be safe for hogs sadly.
