Liking the mixed content. The shot where you are off the bike before you make your coffee straight up looks green screened for some reason haha. I really like the riding up and riding away shots. Something not many others do. but it adds a lot!
Loving this format! It's good to mix it up a bit. You're doing awesome!!! I dig the Tusk gear. It's nice to see someone making quality, affordable luggage for folks on a budget or for folks just getting into the sport. Nice work RMATVMC!
First of all, excellent hat choice! Really adds to the video in my opinion. :) But in all truthfulness, I liked the format. Nice to see the product in use, and being tested while you’re giving a review of them. I think it’s more interesting and enlightening than just seeing them in the driveway. Impressed with all the gear you got in them. Camp chair, table, stove, dishes and coffee?! Holy smokes those have a lot of room in them. I wouldn’t have guessed all that fit in them when I first saw them.
Dude you nailed it for me, I've been thinking about how to add storage for my day trips on my WR250R. Living in SoCal we have so many options to adventure out to. Keep up the great videos...
I like this style of review. Lets you see what you can actually fit, how it works in practical use, and how it appears on this particular bike. They really lets me feel like I'm trying them without buying first, which is what review video should be all about.
Dork...be straight up with me...i just bought a ktm exc f 500..i need luggage....tusk or giant loop?....im doing Idaho bdr next year...probably 5-6 day trip.
Mr Dork, I have a question. In addition to what you brought on the bags, can you also fit a small tent , sleeping bag, clothes, water and food for a 2 day camp out? Edit. With adding the top dry bag 22lt or would I need the highland system. I have a honda crf300l. Would the highland look too big? Thanks
Ben, absolutely I love honest concise evaluations of gear. As I’m looking now at TUSK gear to add to the Norden as I love the durability of their tank bag. Gear evals are always welcome.
Hi, I am just deciding on what kind of soft luggage I want to buy for my dual sport bike. I am torn between getting saddlebags like the Tusk Excursopn + a luggage roll on top OR some kind of horseshoe luggage like giant loop. What are the benefits of the horseshoe design in comparison to saddlebags + luggage roll on top? I thought that saddlebags are more convenient for the days I don´t need the luggage roll on top, because a horseshoe design will probably flop around when half empty. Any thoughts on this?
I want these for my DRZ. For someone that's packing light, but doing a multi-day trip, like the WABDR, would these bags be sufficiently sized? I'm hesitant to buy a rack style system because the rack system would get in the way for riding when I'm just doing day rides, which is how I ride my DRZ 97.17836% of the time. The whole "moto-camping" thing is something I want to try next year on the WABDR, hence the reason for my question.
Coffe break givs me a new product idea! imagine a compact lightweight device that kept coffee steaming hot for hours so one did not have to carry a camp stove and a pan and a table....hmm I KNOW! An INSULATED container! I would name it something like "thermal container"///maybe a brand name like "Thermos"....! MILLION DOLLAR IDEA!
Used the same setup with the 22l drybag on a DRZ motocamp trip a couple weeks back. It was a challenge to get everything I needed packed, but I was able to make it work. Good bang for the buck.
Great video. Still waiting for my 2021 to show up. I think those bags will be on my list of accessories. I will post a few short videos of my morning coffee spots.
That format works really well I enjoyed the review. Am following your channel full of envy, here in Scotland we have plenty off road tracks but you only have access if you walk or ride a horse. My crf Rally never even gets muddy 😭
Love the informative review, thanks! I'm planning to buy a Honda CRF300L Rally and I'm already shopping for tested accessory options, not just luggage, and your review was very useful, thanks!
IMHO? You SHOULD have actually attempted to CAMP overnight out of the system! A tube tent and down bag etc minimal amount of gear....then as a nice touch? juxtapose the whole effort with some nice film clips of old west horse cowboys camping out of their saddle bags and bedroll....COULD be awesome!
If some one was thinking of buying the excursion for a KLR 650 2022 They do not fit. The base mounting is just not wide enough. I purchased them Monday got them super fast Rocky mt is a pleasure to do business with! I am unfortunately sending them back and getting the bigger highlander will see how that goes when they come in.
Debating between this and the larger bag from tusk. Worried about size and if it's enough combined with my giant loop tilamook to cover me better on multiday/week trips on my wr250r
Can you tell me what you think of a 2007 drz250? I'm 235 5'11 spend a lot of time going slow anyways, technical terrain. Didn't want something as heavy as a DRZ400
Got mine delivered today from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. I'm really impressed with how well everything is put together & looks. Tomorrow they are going on my DR650. Thanks for doing this review on them man.
This is IMHO your best review. It would gave been nice to the installation process, but you showed them functioning and that's what is most important. Question, did you gave a light on you? You appeared overexposed. Took me a while to see the McLovin logo on your hat!
Good review format and I enjoy your content so subbed. However, please make it clear from the beginning if the products were purchased or provided. I don’t think it was your intent but not mentioning that the bags were provided by Rocky Mtn. comes across as a bit sketchy.
Great review! How do you think these would fit on your old africa twin? Im looking more for day trip adventure storage, not multi day camping trips. Thanks!
You should do more reviews like this. I know you are all in with Giant Loop but you have so much more content that is waiting for you. You do a great job at it. God bless!
This was great, thorough review. I like this format, but could you do a long term review once you've used these for awhile? I think knowing how they hold up is as/more important than most anything else. This goes for anything that sees a lot of abuse, really.
I have seen other reviews that say the dry bags are nearly impossible to get in the panniers ,have you had any issues like that? Apparently the strap that runs around the top of the pannier is a choke point. I like the new format
Great informational video. I am in the market for a bag set up for my T7 and I was looking at these. I was looking at the larger ones for longer trips but this video helps a lot.
Good video format. Good video. I like the Tusk stuff I've seen so far. How do you like that Gray and Blue Klim jacket and pants? And if you do like it, link?
Great video! These are the exact bags I've been looking for. I'll probably pair these with a 28L Dryspec top bag and be set for weekend camping sessions. As far as content goes, I'd like to see scenario videos.. Like you go camping for a weekend so you'd step through gear selection explaining why (offering alternatives to the gear as well?) , and then see it in action just like this video. Cheers!
