I've been testing the ICECO VL65 12-volt fridge and I'm never going back to using a cooler. This is perfect for emergencies as well as overlanding, camping, or RVS/campers and camper vans. It uses so little power that you can use a battery bank, solar generator, or your vehicle's 12-volt power port to power it for days, weeks, or months. I love the durable construction and the compressor's 5-year warranty. I went with ICECO because they have become well known for their quality and bang-for-buck performance.

This is the sister channel, wait maybe cousin. I don't know. It's the second HAXMAN channel. Here I can show more gear reviews for survival, gardening, off-road, emergency preps, off-grid, and landscaping. You know, basic man stuff. I'll also show projects that don't quite fit on HAXMAN.

I have the same unit and have been on the road for 8 months. It has been running since day one and draws 52 watts in MAX and 32 watts in ECO once the compressor has settled down. I use one side for Fridge 34F and the other for freezer set at 3F. It's a fantastic "MACHINE"!

I always keep a 2ltr soda bottle of water in my apartment fridge freezer for two reasons, it helps take up dead space while running and I can put it in the fridge if power fails, it also helps with 12v compressor and thermoelectric chillers to get things frosty faster in emergencies when mobility is critical.

We grew up with barn cats to help with mice and moles. The barn cats are always a different type of cat. Ours would follow us everywhere. They become helpers with chores. They are the ones you discuss plans with. You cuss them when you trip over them. They become family.

I have this same unit, that my wife and I used While driving the lower 48 states driving an 18 wheeler. We kept our food and drinks in it for cooking on the truck. It should be noted that their Warranty service is fantastic. We had to have one replaced thanks to the crappy interstates in Chicago.

I run a 75Qt ICECO on my 24V work van. 1600W solar on roof. Magnum 4000W inverter. Midnite Solar charge controller. No cold 🍻. It only consumes about 60W!!! I keep the freezer at 10F, refrigerator section at 34F all summer in 80-100F van. About $1000 at Lowe’s.

Thanks Haxmeister! This is something to seriously think about getting as here on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, we tend to have a bit of "weather" every so often! Nice to see the various power situations also... I, personally, think you deserve a polite golf clap 👏👏 for providing this.... well done, young man! Well done indeed! And again, kudos to your lovely video crew! Take care, be safe and God bless!

Love this video. It was to the point and really sold me on this idea. We go camping and use coolers and ice. I recently upgraded to a $150+ Cooler and only had to by 1 bag 7# after my initial 14#, but the other 2 guys with me had to buy at least 2-3 bags / day. This would be a game changer.

My Dad has the iceco I believe it was the 20liter he used it for his medication. The cooler wasn’t working right after 2-3 years. They just sent him a brand new model. Very good company but outside of my price now. When we got dads iceco was new. They were much cheaper. I myself have a 45liter SetPower. I love mine it’s dual zone has two separate locking lids. I highly recommend both companies but setpower is much cheaper. Iceco seems to have a big RU-vid presence. The most important thing is warranty both are the best iceco is the longest setpower is right behind them.

I've been using my VL60 dual zone for over 3 years now here in the south in a very hot car. I keep one side with popsicles in it the other drinks and water. Training alot (running) it's nice on hot summer days to get back at the car for a cold popsicle lol. Anyways it's been a very solid unit and their customer service is great if ever needed anything.

As an OTR Driver I had a “cooler” but it only cooled 20° below ambient 90°=70° Several years ago I got FPSC at the TA. Not as snazzy and less options but it was smaller. It had 2 Cool (Refrigerator) settings & 2 Freezer Settings. Currently full and running in my kitchen as I thaw out a small freezer. Whatever it is you choose these are worth every penny (though I got mine for TA Points mostly)

We have a remote cabin accessible by ATV where we only need refrigeration for about a day. I like this because we can keep food frozen until the freezer and refrigerator cool down. I want to bring ice cream there and this will work. The great thing for us is the 12 v power option. We have a 12 v system with 280 watts of solar for lighting and Rv water pump and in the summer we could run this indefinitely on the porch to cool beer. Our inverter is on a separate 48v system.

Last year I bought the iceco 2 compartment a shown in this video..... The one I got would not hold consistent temperatures in each compartment and it was determined to have a sticking. Solenoid that switched the freon between the 2 zones......I HOPE ICECO FIX THAT GLICH........ I returned it and bought the JP46 iceco Roda-mold, it's been running in the back of my 4runner in Phoenix for over a year..... This year was the hottest in the last 20 years, with 60 days over 110..... And a shout out to blueTTIE AC 200 max, even in the 110 days. It would still run 2 plus days my ICECO....JP46...

I had an Igloo version of this about 20 years ago. I got tired of buying ice and wasting space in the cooler on extended camping trips. It was a POS... never really worked well. It was okay for keeping food "cool" enough not to spoil, but it couldn't keep beer cold, even if you pre-chilled it. I am glad to see that modern versions are doing a better job. And I really like the more rugged build of that unit.

My iceco45 is the only Xi-ese thing i have that hasnt broke- in 3 years 24/7 full time on 12v rv ning. i wish i had the 65l. doesnt use much solar power either...... So using 12v is more efficent than 120v ? I made a foily-foam outside cover and when boondocking i leave it outside the rv in winter which really helps. i can keep 3 months of prepper meats etc .. in it.

Will the Jackery power it longer using 120 AC outlets or the 12V DC port of the Jackery?
@g-whiz286
@g-whiz286 Год назад
12 volt. The DC-DC converter in the Jackery is more efficient than the DC-AC inverter.
@gspot525
@gspot525 Год назад
@g-whiz286 Agreed, but the efficiency of the cooler's compressor running on AC vs DC would be the single biggest factor with regards to energy draw. If you run the cooler on 12v, is the cooler inverting that to 120VAC for operation or is it actually running on the 12VDC?

The first thing I thought when I saw this video was that you need some type of power to make ice. The second thing is that I was thinking of buying two of these if I ever go back to OTR. The price point I saw was a little steep for me at $1200 when I was looking. But all in all, nice review video.

Wow five year warranty ! Most people will use this twice a year for two weeks total that’s a ten week warranty, there not very proud of what they made, I’ll skip ! And 12 volt why not have the option for 240 volt so you can plug it strait into a solar panel without a transformer system, plug into your car and then that don’t work with a dead battery so now you have two things that don’t work. Probably to expensive for not being any good. Oh and don’t get rid of the other one ! I think your gunna need it later
