This throwback Disney World is Disney Springs back when it was Downtown Disney with Pleasure Island. This footage was shot in both 2000 and 2002, you'll see some 2000 banners flying. It also includes a look inside the old-style World of Disney!

Wow this was great to see! I remember this look of Downtown Disney at the time. It's a bit kitschy, lol, but I remember enjoying it.Thanks for sharing!

Hello new friends. This brings back so much memories. Loved Pleasure island. I like Disney Springs but Pleasure Island was so cool every night was New Years eve. They used to have a Improve club there too. Love it.

We are both torn because we like Disney Springs but miss parts of the old Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island...although at our age, I guess upscale shops are more our speed!! 😂

Nice. It's rare to see a PI video on here that features Wildhorse Saloon, Pleasure Island Jazz Company, and the West End Stage. Most of the videos were shot post-2005, so it's definitely cool to see videos shot right before the clubs closed.

Thank you! I guess most people carried big VHS cameras earlier and Steve loves his gadgets so had this tiny little camera with small tapes, so the footage is easily convertible. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!

This brought back some memories, especially the Dinosaur on top of Planet Hollywood. As mush as this made me nostalgic, I must confess I love what they've done to the area now.

Editing this, I was torn. I love how big, bold and ‘Disney’ this feels but I love the Springs and the relaxed atmosphere now. I also love all the new food choices. So I guess like both! Very decisive, me! Thanks so much for watching!

@@TravelswithVandSteve Yes, I'm the same as you. I think my younger self misses the old stuff but my older self much prefers the refined style of Disney Springs.

@@TravelswithVandSteve I preferred the Adult night life of the 1990s. There is only so much Disney beauty I can handle in a day then I want to listen to loud music and party.

I visited Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island TWENTY years ago!! (randomly today was our first full day in Orlando the 4th of July. It was my very first visit to the USA) we were there for 3 weeks and had a total blast. Its where my love and passion for WDW and Orlando started. I videod the holiday but never videoed any of this area. I am sure we went to a comedy club in pleasure Island! Was lovely to see it and remind me of how much its changed! I also remember visiting that planet hollywood!

Steve's first visit was 20 years ago too...where does the time go. Mine was a little more since my Aunt lived in Tampa and I was about 3...I'm not admitting how long ago that was! How cool this video is on the same date as your first full day! So glad it brought back memories. After editing this, I really kind of miss the old Downtown Disney. Thanks so much for watching!
