Wilkins is the most underrated player in NBA history. Shame he wasn't included in the NBA top 50.

Patrick Ewing was so skilled. He was a force on both offense and defense. Never got a ring cause it's a team sport and he never had a good enough supporting cast (never had an all star teammate). Playing in the Jordan era made it really tough too of course but Ewing was a beast for sure.

Anytime I see a highlight reel where Mark Jackson assists Ewing I find myself saying "Why, why, why!?!" Why did the Knicks ever let go of Jackson! He and Ewing had such a great connection on the court, it could only have gotten better by 93-99 runs, and with all the added pieces, surely could've inched the Knicks closer to the NBA title.

I was pissed the day we traded Mark. I had loved him since St. John's and he was a local Bishop Loughlin HS kid which was 15 mins from where I grew up. We definitely could've won a ring with him running the team instead of Doc Rivers the following year. Derek Harper played well for us too but Mark Jackson any day over him for me. Pure point guard and leader and knew how to get the most out of players.

Dominique and Ewing should've teamed up, they would've won some rings
@TTFMjock
@TTFMjock 4 года назад
Maybe. 2 iso scorers with below average court vision might not mix well. Ewing would have had to adjust his game to become an off-ball pick and roll player and offensive rebounder. And both would need to focus much more on passing. Ewing was a great spot up shooter so it’s far from impossible. I believe Ewing’s passing and offensive rebounding numbers were suppressed from never playing with any strong offensive players and playing with static offensive schemes. Looking back at those teams, other than Marc Jackson, Ewing played with terrible passers.

Gerald Wilkins was a very good defender. M.J and Nique were both unstopable by any defender in the league And a decent offensive player. He dropped 26 (11/18 2p and 2/2 3p) in that game. Not bad at all.

I'd take him over Bird.. Bird had an all star team around him.. Nique did it all himself. I find that to be a lot more incredible tbh 🤷‍♂️ Bernard King was another that's had a similar fate.. did so much himself without much help.
@PaulFos
@PaulFos Год назад
And Wilkins repeatedly dominated Bird. Bird was better as a team player, but one on one, he and most other players couldn't guard, or stop Dominique, who was way above them as an individual player. Nique was on the top ten all time scoring list for many years before being surpassed. He also won a scoring title and crossed 25,000 points. Bird, great as he was, never achieved those milestones.

Patrick it's one of the best center of the NBA history and the best player of the Knicks. I can even said that he was close to Olajuwon on his move, jump shot, temper and game style. No doubt one of the best 3 Centers of the 90's and probably in the top 10 NBA Center of the history.
