This band was so badass...he Definatly is the closest clone to a Phil Anselmo... just without the heroin and terrible life takes... saw Throwdown 10+ times live, and each concert was a war in the pit... wish they would get back together for one more album with music that reflected the venom&tears, Vendetta and Deathless albums

Yeah, me too...but I just like this album (Venom & Tears) way the most because is very Pantera influenced. I'm not sure if the members are still straight edge btw.

Heard this and thought immediately of 25 years - Pantera. Fucking righteous man. Dave is no Phil and Mark is no Dime, but these guys are carrying on a legacy that most bands have let die. Music is dying slowly with the passing of every legend who paved the way for bands today and at the rate its going, groove metal doesn't have much longer. Long live the sound of REAL metal.
Throwdown was a mix between our past and present. I can't remember which media outlet said it was the new Pantera and I felt that but it was just Throwdown! Music from the heart 🤘
I went right after work to purchase album the day it came out. I remember not being able to drive when the CD was in. Blew me away I thought to myself here's our new pantera! I was so blown away it was seven songs before I left best buys parking lot lol not to mention my wife pissed at me for taking long to come home. Throwdown for life!!
Now this is my style of metal that ole "Imma beat cho ass" metal is what I love about THROWDOWN they got my number for my kind of metal to bang to. These dudes are some real OGs in this kind of metal. Especially in their making all their albums are bangers that we all need.
Thought I was the only person who they sound Panteraesque. I just discovered this band this week and could have sworn that was Dime on guitar and Phil on vocals. Damn this is awesome with a timeless sound. Heavy music will never die!
Same here! The words really touch a raw nerve in me to this very day! I used to be in a Cult called Pentecostalism. They do some of the most off-the-wall stuff, and they try their best to shove their rules down your throat! According to them, you're automatically damned to Hell, if you don't follow what THEY say, and believe me, they're merciless about it! Yes, I do love the Lord, and I totally believe in God. That being said, though, I've seen some absolutely horrid things in the "Movement" that I was in...and I stress the word "Was"! I'll never subject myself to such torture again! This song is a reminder that I have good people on my side that'll help me, especially when the nutjobs try to shove something down my throat that I KNOW ain't right!
It's all there is. There won't be another Pantera and nobody else is doing what they used to do but these guys. The guy sounds like Anselmo and the band pulls off the groove. That's about all you can ask for these days in the sea of emo/crapcore/dickshit metal. These days people think double kick drums and incoherent screams suffice, and what's more disturbing is people buy that shit.

I know everyone else has said this already, but this new album sounds SO MUCH LIKE PANTERA.....AND I LOVE IT!!!! Who cares if they're not being original? This is so balls-out and it rocks your face off. Finally something in rock worth being excited over!!! SAVE US THROWDOWN!!!
Saw these guys live. Had no idea who they were or what they sounded like. The next day I bought an album. Excellent performance. THEY EVEN DID A COVER OF ROOTS BLOODY ROOTS. F**king awesome.
I prefer the earlier Throwdown albums, but the production quality is much better in the later ones. They do start to get a Pantera sound to them, but that is a complement. Pantera fucking rules.
Pantera...I've listened to quite a lot of their music, but there's one song that Pantera did, that kinda loosely connects with this song. The song that I'm thinking about is called "Drag The Waters". It, of course, is a song that stresses the point that, instead of blindly believing something that somebody tells us, do your own checking to find out if they're telling you the truth or not. In this way, you can check out what a "Religious Leader" is saying, and then do a fact-check on that "Religious Leader" to find out if he's telling you the truth, or if he's just trying to shove a pack of lies down your throat. Remember:Only the gullible believe everything that the lead "Fool" tells them to!
man, this band is relatively new to me, i'm well chuffed I found them, this album and venom and tears are brilliant, their guitarist is improving as they progress too. Can't wait for their next album.

In my teen years I was into old heavy metal and death metal, thrash metal, power metal, and black metal but never into this van. I just staring listening to them because of the song “burn” for my workouts. But this song I hear a lot of Pantera
That's what makes them so great. At the time I'd found this CD (and I had never heard of Throwdown at the time) I was constantly on a search for a band that could give me that sound that only Pantera ever could. Every song on Venom & Tears is outstanding.
Axel Drop Sykes pantera has the biggest shoes in metal to fill imo but this is as close to the real deal as we can ask for...........as a diehard life long PANTERA fan i have to say this pleases me to here a sound that i havent heard in so long. rock the fuck out throwdown you guys fucking bring it \m/
Good metal guitarist is good player, not in the same stratosphere as Dime, but nobody else is either! Pantera May never be able to be removed from the greatest metal band ever, they were a once in a generation band!!

Seriously? Far Beyond Driven? The Great Southern Trendkill? Reinventing the Steel? Those albums may not be considered as "metalcore" but, Throwdown's Holy Roller sounds like it's from Pantera's "Vulgar display of power".
I asked my friend what pantera album this was on. He said Great Southern Trend Kill. You should have seen the look on his face when i said this isnt even pantera.

I don't know why you're saying this, Isaak. Because this song is INCREDIBLY and undoubtedly similar to alot of things Pantera has put out... Throwdown will obviously never compare, heck, no one will ever compare to pantera in their prime, as they were on their own level... But you cannot deny that this is basically Pantera laced with godsmack.

Well.... obviously influenced by Pantera, but, definitely not a 'rip-off' because they sound different enough to still be themselves, nothing wrong with emulating those that have gone before us. If Pantera were still all alive and back together, I reckon they would have been sounding something like these guys! Really good! I'm impressed 🤘🤘
Damn. It's been a minute since I've listened to them. Last time was probably when I saw them with the Black Dahlia Murder at the Engine Room in Houston Tx.
