The deeper the pit, the more it converges at the bottom. What's far enough at the top, isn't far enough at the bottom.

Are you forced to take off-center rolling starts? Try lining up on the mark, then you can more accurately adjust your speed and angle. As an alternative play, hit the big ramps and play for the longest hang time.
