An array of my drills ranging from throwing mechanics to cone drills to pocket movement. Mt SAC finished 2014 11-2, CA State Juco Champions, ranked #4 nationally.
You can see how the game of Football evolves SOOO much. The throwing motion that they did nearly 10 years ago is NOT the same motion that Top level quarterbacks motions looks like. The motion that they show in this video it causes your body to be out of sic causing in accurate passes more then accurate passes. When you go to 90 degrees RIGHT AWAY like the coach showed. Your hips and shoulders don't separate. The way to have max throw power, accuracy is to let your hip go open first then your elbow follows then the ball. That creates the most amount of power. I could go more in depth but this will be a whole article. So please Start throwing the new BETTER way. Search up videos how to throw that are new and improved ways.
It was all good for me until I torn a rotator cuff on my throwing arm in high school and broke my radius & ulna bones in college. In my mid 30s now, still have shoulder pain often when I don't get enough sleep, if standing for too long, continuous heavy lifting, or after throwing the football at a park. I've also permanently lost range of motion on my injured wrist...With that said, I still can throw the football in tight spirals with pin point accuracy up to 40 yards on any given day. Strangers on the receiving end of my football throw tells me sometimes they hear the ball whistling. I presume people could tell, since they've never asked, that I used to be a qb probably from my throwing motion and how the ball travels accurate and fast coming off of my hand. But for some odd reason, I struggle getting the ball pass 50 yards on a lob throw. I'd love to watch it fly 60 70 80 yards with 5+ seconds hang time. That's the whole reason I got into football as a kid in the first place because I fell in love watching the football fly high though the air in a spiral; especially the official USA kind not those composite China stuff. I didn't care much about football as a game since the beginning. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to win a ring and get overly paid to play. Honestly this day and age, I could careless about football as a game. I just enjoy throwing it and watching it fly. Given my age and condition, any suggestion on how I can accomplish throwing 60 plus yards or improve on my limited range? I've checked strength. I've checked mechanics. I've checked technique. I'm definitely not lacking those 3 things. Maybe the reason could be from not enough motion quickness or couldn't get that snap due to my prior injuries!? I get envious of those in the 60+ yards club. That is the only thing I am missing from what I enjoy doing.
