Throwing Muses - Counting Backwards (Official Video) 

The Real Ramona was a fucking brilliant record. You listen to it now, and it still sounds totally fresh, like it had just been recorded last week.

This was a genius band yet - relatively speaking - barely anyone knows about them. So if you are watching this video you are very fortunate.

I'm 62 years old and my favorite bands are Pixies,Throwing Muses,Dinosaur Jr., and The Smiths

Around the early 90's in Orange County, California, I used to watch a local music video show called "Request Video." The host at that time was the way cool, funny, and lovely, Gia DeSantis. I will never forget the time they played my request, this one. Gia announced the band and title, followed by "for Adam in Huntington Beach. " She then smiled at the camera as if to say: This guy has amazing taste.

"The Real Ramona" is still on heavy rotation after 30 years... A sign of quality? Sure.

This is why I love digging through music! I've never heard this song before and have never heard of this band. 20 seconds into the song they got my full attention. I was thinking ok.. let it play out and see if the song drops off somewhere. It never did! This is a classic track and the video fits the song so well. 🎵

I WISH THE 90'S LASTED FOR EVER

The Real Ramona… What a great album. I used to crank this in my 71 Volkswagen bug as I cruised around the mountains north of Fort Collins, Colorado back in the 90s… saw the Throwing Muses at the Fox theater in Boulder on their University tour…

Oh man, the hours I wasted sat in front on MTV waiting for gems like this to periodically pop up. But am I sorry? No sir! No I am not! Man, I still love Throwing Muses. Thanks for the upload.

37 years old, and a friend played this album for me at 16. It is my favorite album start to finish to this day. Absolutely gorgeous

Two of the loveliest, classiest and smartest ladies rock music has ever had. And together with the other ultra-talented members of their band, a criminally underrated band.

I simply adore both Kristin Hersh and Tanya Donelly they're pure talent... Love forever for this two great ladies.

This song is perfect musically but what I think I most admire listening to it is its rhythm/drum percussion; catchy and propulsive as hell!

Still a favorite band to this day

I'm old, so when this music video came out I thought it was corny, a throwback to many years earlier. Now, decades later, its brilliant which shows a time past beautifully. Bravo, bravo.

Remembering I had the CD single of this song. Early nineties Alternative. Lovely little era of music. So many bands putting out some amazing, original music. It's crazy how after this and if you count Electronica later in the decade, there really hasn't been another musical genre/movement created since then. Maybe it speaks of the staleness of modern music.

I was 21yo when this album came out, found them on MTV's 120 Minutes (the only things MTV was ever good for). That Summer I was rooming with friends on the Jersey Shore (no, not THAT one) in Sea Isle City and working about 50 minutes away and I had a Ninja motorcycle. When I would get done work late on Saturday night and ride the Ninja to our apartment I would have a Walkman playing certain tapes for the ride and The Real Ramona was one of them. I felt like I was safe while riding and listening to good music and always felt like this was good album to listen to for Shore music for surfing and riding along the coast. This album is so good and so underappreciated. So glad I got to enjoy it and can still do so to this day. Thanks, Throwing Muses.

Still to this day this song rocks! It is so good! This whole cd is so good, and unique. I truly enjoyed Kristin's book Rat Girl. Thank you for letting us see into your mind, and world.

I know a lot of attention rightly is paid to Kristin and Tanya, but can we talk about David Narcizo for a second? For years, he didn't even have cymbals on his kit - and by this point he did, but he was and is one of the most underrated drummers in history, in my opinion.

The Real Ramona was unexpectedly released on my 19th birthday, same day as R.E.M.'s Out of Time. I walked in the record story expecting to walk out with R.E.M..... I never did get that R.E.M. album.

Great song by a very talented group... I only wish I could have caught one of their shows back in the day! There were some really great female led bands back in the '90's. Belly, Throwing Muses, The Breeders, etc... A time machine would be great about now.

Tanya and Kristen both superb got the back catalougues of Throwing muses Belly and Tany and Kirsten solo albums, these are awesome albums....they never got the credit they deserved, . bit like Curve and the breeders
