Very nice finished forms ..It is funny ..SOme potters decades in are great at moving the material but end up with dumpy forms at the end .. You have a very good eye and sadly that can't be taught. By the way one thing I say to the students is start picking up the pot from the last place the wire cut ... I think it was George Curtis at Littlethorpe pottery in Yorshire who said to me about learning a move .. "The first thousand are always the hardest .. " Yours in clay , Guy

Thanks for the pointers. Very helpful. Sometime, would you do a video on making three sizes with similar proportions? For example, the same shaped vase in 1-2-3 lbs sizes.

Thanks for the lesson. I actually believe that you are the best potter that I have watched. So just keep up the good work and keep helping we amateurs. You seem to throw very thin, is this true. Also, could you tell us some time how tall the piece is that your turning. I try to match the perceived heights of the pieces you make, but never get there. Wonderful video

Good set of tips. I stand at my wheel also at bellybutton height and find it very comfortable. My Giffin Grip I have set at around chest height with a cross brace to support and steady my forearms. Thanks for sharing Matthew .

Love your videos as everyone does I'm sure. Might want to mention that the piece needs to be cleaned off before lifting off the wheel. That is always something I realize on my first piece.....lesson learned right.

Easy to press the right button " like or dislike" as I can automatically press LIKE on all your works I do remove my pots as I make them BUT I do torch them a little first, not too much but just enough to make it easy to get them off the wheel, guess we all do things differently aye Matt?

I only have 15 batts. By the time I have them full, I'm done for the day anyway. Maybe if I raise my wheel up like you do, my back wouldn't be shot

can you make a video on how to trim with a needle tool?? for some reason I just cannot get that down and i ruin every pot when i try to trim the rim

Thanks for the video! How much clay do you use for mugs/tankards? You get so much out of 1 lbs. For a vase, do you throw vases thinner? Or use less when throwing mugs?

i don't understand why people think Bmix is quality clay!! its the stiffest crappiest excuse for potters clay that I have ever had the misfortune to use. i haven't gotten an s crack or lost a handle in over 3 years until I was forced to use bmix... now handles want to crack off on about 20% of my mugs!
