EXCELLENT Video. I just bought a T300 and I have been thinking about buying the 599 EVO Alcantara add-on wheels, an expensive addon BTY. This video is great in that it actually shows what to disconnect and you show what is under the wheel face and how to perform the wheel swap. Thanks for doing the video.
You are welcomed. Question, why exactly is the adapter needed? Is it primarily a spacer to move the wheel closer to the driver? Is the adapter used to match up the bold pattern with the wheel?
+Gregory P because the Ferrari emblem sticks out slightly and you won't be able to fit an aftermarket wheel on correctly due to this, so the adaptor acts as a spacer, Also the adaptor is good to fasten your new wheel to as I wouldn't like to bolt it onto the main plastic area without it just in case, For £24.95 It's pretty cheap,
i know this is a pretty old video ,but you could like soft-mount a controller in the top gap of the wheel most game's allow dual inputs even on consoles if you where only on PC you could use a mini wireless keyboard with touch-pad ,and if you find one small enough you could mount it across the middle I was thinking about a similar project for lmp/f1 sized wheel.
hmm I still don't see the need for the adapter if you get a wheel with the same size centre plate and drill out door the dpad and buttons, may be something I'm missing though. has anyone else tried it without the adapter and keeping the buttons on the wheel?, good video though mate and very informative
does the adapter have a bolt pattern to fit wheels so you dont have to drill your own like you did? like the standard 6 bolt wheels? Why did you drill your own holes to begin with?
Thanks. Do you know if that wheel you have will fit just as good on the standard T300 RS wheel? In other words, will all the buttons(excluding the D-Pad) still be accessible?
Hi Arnold, To be honest I can't see it being a problem no but don't take my word for it as you can see I don't have the RS so would like to say 100% yes,
What if I buy a real 300mm spark wheel and drill out the hole for the d-pad could that work? the I might not need the adapter if the screw holes line up or will the angles of the wheel not fit because it is bigger?
where can i buy a wheel like that for really cheap like 30 to 40 bucks on ebay i only fond ones for 100 i really need a like for the eu I live in spain btw
Does the screw pattern on the stock wheel line up with any afermarket wheels? i imagine if it did you could use it without the adapter with some modifications, and even drill a hole for the the DPAD. There are little tabs that slot into the stock wheell behind the paddles but i imagine you could indent or drill the aftermarket wheel so these arent affected?
