loved watching this, I’m playing with Germany lately and been using the mercs the giant grenadier is a fun unit probably a little op, funny thing is if you age up to imperial with mercenary contractor you can buff these even more!
man we have to be honest here, what game can you think of thats as crazy with the meta as Age of Empires 3? so many different builds and they can all work even at higher elo.

The Marathan Thuggee and Decoit units are good but not exceptional. Looking at them as one unit and comparing them to other things isn't good, it's all about the cost. Abus guns for instance do siege damage and have a MUCH better firing animation, get more range as they upgrade, have far more cards that support them oh and don't cost ridiculously stupid levels of population where you pretty much have to be playing Germany with Palatine Settlements, Brit with a manor boom or Japan just to build them. Even the card that lowers population (theatres) it doesn't make them equal to units that are equivalent per cost. In the case of the Thuggee you have to staple another 50 wood to it's cost compared to a skirm. Dacoit's are even worse in terms of population. Better hope the game doesn't go long periods without fighting either otherwise you'll be forced to fight with a very inefficient 200 population. There's just way too many hoops non-European outlaws have to jump through in order to be useful. With these units and others like them, people will see 'one unit with a gun' and assume its a skirmisher when in reality its closer to two and a half to three skirmishers stapled together and thus take fights they wouldn't if they saw three skirms instead or if there were 5 of them, imagine there are really 15 because that's the investment cost (if you factor in population too). The stats stop looking so good then. The other issue too is that it will suck your gold up faster then you can say Wallenstein. Especially if you use Tilly's Discipline as well which is why their units were so fast, Thuggee are 4 speed, Dacoit's are 4.5. Surprised we didn't see folk heroes for the amount of Thuggees they had.
Lionheart. Just for the record. They are pronounced Ma-ra-than not marathon and thugee is Hindi for to swindle or rob. Historically they were bandits or organized criminals that terrorized the British during their rule of India. It is where the English word for thug comes from.
I know Native Scouts received a buff vs. Mercs to act as a weak Spy and that they are supposed to be niche, but watching how these strong mercs were performing generally, I feel they are still not worth it. You can only train 5, they cost wood, and with 25 hand attack and 120 health, there is not much they can do. I would propose a split wood-food cost and a higher multiplier
I feel as if a dagger throw ability or something would be good & 8 build limit is the norm is it not? This way it would be more like Artillery & Light Cav... you don't actually have to fight into them directly to weaken them every time then wait for another batch only once they're dead.

These 2 outlaw unit population should be reduced to the American-maps outlaw unit equivalent. 5 and 6 pop is waaay too much to make them viable. I think they are more expensive than them already in coin
new player here, pls can someone help me with one thing that is driving me crazy...so basically how can u get that mercenary in the saloon? because when i m in age 2 and i place the saloon, it only give me access to gunslinger and renegade
It is fun because native civs can't do nothing vs mercs because they have no spy available for them but if it's an another ero civ that will be end so much quicker 😂😂
the improved mercenaries card (+15% hp and attack) and mercenary camps should be one, since the Swedes do have a similar card that enables mercenaries in regular buildings and also improves them by 20%. And not only that, the Swedes also enable mercenaries by sending a shipment of 10 jaegers or 7 black riders, which are cheaper, and they also have the advanced arsenal for free and other cards that affect mercenaries. 
Yeah sweden is also the other option for a merc civ, spamming torps for pop space is good because they are your main gold eco usualy and like you said they have free advanced arsenal and the merc shipments allows their training at barracks/stable
