Another part built video for you guys. This is a gorgeous kit I would recommend to any AFV WW2 enthusiast. If you would like to contribute to the channel.. please look here.. / nigelsmodellingbench
This is excellent.[ I had an old Accurate Armour kit, which lay untouched for 15 years ...i laid it out, and the instructions were A Rubbish photos, and B they,d sent 2 of one section and none of another. I was unable to build it.] And i owned a 1939 R 100 in the 1990,s, which i spent years restoring, so i knew the guts of the actual machine. Now i can built this kit, which has 100% good instructions. Costs 1/4 the price of A Armour. My thanks to Nigel. ! Very good video and info.
Awesome review and buildup! I just ordered the fifth wheel trailer version, then went back and ordered the wrecker version for my dad while watching your review. Any time i pick up a trailered version of a vehicle, my dad goes out of his way to find a wrecker version so he can say he got his finished first :P
Always interested in reviews that show the plastic on the sprues as it gives a good idea of the kit, the quality of the detail on parts, and so on. It enables us to see if it is really something we would want to tackle. I had seen the tank transporter kit and had been undecided about getting it. However, seeing these reviews has prompted me to order it as, though a reasonable amount of money it looks good value not just in the plastic but also the fun of building it. Ideally there would be three parts to a kit review: An initial pre-build review, the build process series, and a post build review that uses the initial review with how sections have gone together. Grateful for a review like this though as it goes beyond the 'looks like a nice kit' summary and actually shows what a good kit it is. Thank you for the effort doing this.
Dear Nigel, a model is only as good as the modeller who makes it. You must have the patience of a saint to get all that detail to work (without glueing it all together in a big mess) and still work after you have painted it. I bow to you Sir, I doubt I will ever have either the patience or that level of skill but it will be fun finding out. Nice one Nigel, Kind regards, Mr"T".
Thank you Nigel, that was a brilliant parts review even though you have used a lot of it. Seeing the part build enabled us to see all those lovely parts nicely in place. It is a complex build but makes up into a really good model. The 7.2 Howitzer Thunder kit is really nice too, I have this kit. Obviously less parts but just as nicely moulded. A little PE, some wire and decals too. When you get yours have a think about what it would be like with perhaps a replacement brass turned front half gun barrel. There is a company that produce 1/35 ammunition for this artillery piece for those wishing to add to a diorama. I believe the Scammell trucks were used in pairs together with possibly a AEC Matador, all used for one gun. My fathers Scammell for a time had a brass bedstead lashed to the roof of his truck that he had acquired! That was until an uppity officer saw it and shouted at him "get that off of there, what do you think this is a bloody circus"!! My father also told me that he used to place sandbags on the wooden floor of the driving cab in case of mines! Cheers JH ;-)
Nigel, as a long time fan of all you posts, it is sounds like your enthusiasm is back. I am confident your are back and walking with a spring to your step. These last couple reviews have been awesome. The quality if the kits has me thinking i might want to get back into the trucks again. When i see u-bolts separately molded i know we are dealing with quality. Great videos!
Nigel I’m sure I can echo many who watch your videos that it is good to see you back and appearing to enjoy your work. This format is very enjoyable and I hope it gives you an viable outlet for your skills. Best wishes.
Great work again. There was a comment about the shape of the air cleaner. Resicast.com, item 35.2396, Scammell update set No. 2, has what they refer to as new and old style air cleaner, one cylindrical, one pointed. Don't know their source, but apparently there were two types. Cheers
Really enjoying this recent run of reviews Nigel. I've only built one kit from Thunder Models - their covered rail wagon - but I was really pleased with the result. Thanks for sharing mate.
I’ve seen a few of your vids before but you really hammered some ones I’ve been wanting to get. The I love kit tank transport and mirror models wrecker. Nice job. I had to subscribe. Thanks.
