Today we're taking on one of the most requested Mega Man Robot Master themes: Tornado Man's Stage theme "Thunder Tornado" from Mega Man 9!

Mega Man has consistently ranked in the top 5 most requested series every GaMetal Song Ballot, but the individual votes are always spread among various songs, to the point of no particular song being a clear favorite.
So, I decided to hold a special Robot Master Request Battle tournament on the GaMetal Discord server to figure out what the most popular Robot Master themes truly were.
After several rounds, Tornado Man made it into the finals as the underdog candidate, going as far as taking the odds-on favorite Galaxy Man into a sudden death round and securing the victory.
And thus, here we are, with today's Tornado Man remix.

This and Splash Woman made me realize that the music of Mega Man 9 converts *perfectly* to metal music. Would love to see the whole game done in this style, ESPECIALLY the final bosses' music.

Honestly, all Mega Man music does. In fact, NES music in general does. The NES sound chip has two general purpose pulse channels (your lead/rhythm), a triangle wave generator (your bass guitar), and a noise generator (your drum track). I'm honestly pretty sure that the reason I'm so into metal is NES soundtracks and their perfect conversions.

Well in Japan, Megaman is called Rock, his ally is named Roll, and the recurring anti-hero is named Bass. They were definitely fans of "certain genres" of music.

Three things: 1) This is simply further proof that the entire MM9 ost would be worth the GaMetal treatment; this song blew me away when I first heard it normally, but this cover is something else! 2) Those messages at the end - you don't have to *spam* us to get the point across >: ] 3) I recently got into playing MHW a lot recently, and I feel like The Invading Tyrant (i.e. Bezelgeuse's theme) would make for some really good GaMetal.

Really thanks for doing the 18th song that was in my list of requests! This is one I really wanted, and I voted for this multiple times in the Request Battle. Mega Man 9 went from using nostalgia, to being nostalgic itself, I had great memories of playing it on my Wii, at the time, it was shocking to make games with 8-bit graphics in the 21st Century and actually release them for the 7th generation consoles, many people hated it, many people loved it, but then those throwback graphics became common in many indie games from the 2010s and 2020s, shame that like most good things of the videogame industry, not only it was overused, but also misused, retro games are cool but shouldn't be that common, and Mega Man 9 was pretty faithful to actual NES limitations, many games that tried this 8-bit style did not understand how 8-bit games actually looked. And Tornado Man, this is the best song of the whole soundtrack which is already pretty good, the NES soundchip is timeless.

Im an 34 year old boomer ... I grew up with MegaMan till this day I think it rocks the best soundtracks consistently out of every game out there and im so happy people like GaMetal exists that keep covering MegaMan songs in this proportion I swear man this is absolutely insane im repeating this like crazyyy keep the MegaMan stuff up man

I have to say, I never gave much thought to Tornado Man’s theme. Galaxy Man’s theme was my favorite from Mega Man 9, but I will say it is a good theme to be done in your style, Jonny!

Haven't really thought much about 9 and 10. These games were such a weird time in Megaman's history. Good to know that they still had banger soundtracks, though.

Since Live A Live is being remade, I think some remixes of its battle themes would be cool, especially Difficult Fight, Killing Field, and A Painful Death at the Hands of A Psycho! Maybe even a battle theme medley, like your FFI/II/III/IV/V/VI/IX battle medley!

At last, Lord Atma has rewarded the Tornadobros for their victory with this amazing cover. I got chills halfway through, it's even better than I imagined it would be. Also, I see we're getting BIG SHOT next, so the excitement from my part won't end here. I don't tend to listen to remixes of that song because I don't think they really do justice to the original, but none of Atma's remixes have ever disappointed me so I'm really curious about that one. Typical Aeon's Devil Gundam from MS Saga request.

Wow, this one blew me away and knocked the wind outta me and air-punned me to death with how rad these shreds are. I personally love how on the second loop, you add some more guitar in, perfectly adding to the song. What I wanna know, though, is why is it that Mega Man spins around on kabob'd batteries? But yeah, if this song wasn't enough of a cool as hell metal shred, this gust you've given us really gave the gash! Thank you for doing this!

How many different ways have I heard Tornado Man's theme? A lot, probably an album's worth and then some. The entire first half of this sounded similar but when the guitar solo kicked in, that's when it sounded special. So, all I can say is that that was nice spin on things.
