www.motorbeam.com compares the recently launched Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X against the Bajaj Dominar 400. The Thunderbird 500X is a cosmetic update to the Thunderbird 500 while the Dominar 400 has been updated for 2018 with new colours. Both these motorcycles are aimed at touring but the Dominar 400 has much superior hardware but is that enough for it to unsettle the cult British brand's latest offering?

@4.48, whole bike is vibrating like s***, there's no sense in buying the 500 x, for that price we can get rr310 or put a bit more and aim to the duke 390 or rc 390, RE is like left in stone age tech and they're (r&d people) are still in deep cryo sleep.... 😂😂😂😂. Bajaj is trying to achieve something Where's RE is just sitting ducks with new paint schemes and alloys, 2.28 is a lot of money and the only area 500 x is good at is retro charm..., nothing special else than that.

Dominar might be a good motorcycle but you can't compare it with the RE. I have a 9 yr old 1st model TBTS 350. And it still runs like new. Can dominar run like new even after 9 long years ??

Lol... Exactly.... My father's chetak is 30 years old and still running... And as for quality ride, not only is the dominars miles ahead but Enfields are miles behind.... I have riden the 350x and I have to say, it is only good for showing off. Any speed above 110 kmph and the vibrations just result in a sour taste

I was planning for a buy a good machine a year ago...So I did th e test ride of dominar and thunderbird 350...dominar had everything in it for me to go for it....But when I took the test ride of thunderbird....I immediately got connected with the machine...I was first time riding the RE ...The filling is amazing....Respect to dominar...But RE is of different level. I just said....Hell with technology....All i want is this machine....And after one year i feel im lucky i did not bought do minar... But if some one feels do minar is good for them...They can go for it ....

vijay justinn even i have teased RE guy with passion plus altough he beat me in drag 3 times but the fact was if u ask 3 times than heres the ans whenever i overtaked that guy used to follow me and beat me and than he used to ride normal so i beat him twice he still did the same thing it showed how much it had vibrated on high throttle that guy used to chill lol poor HATHI GUY

I used ceat vertigo for rear wheel of my pulsar. I never had to worry about road conditions anymore. Those 50k covered were pure bliss. Sadly ceat does not offer them anymore.

I suppose the winner is determined by what is valued by the rider? Want performance (speed, handling and braking) then Dominator is your choice. What if I want a comfortable slightly slower but still a good handling bike that has some charm and has a history older than a loaf of bread? Neither is what I would call performance bikes and if you only own one then I can see why the Dominator might be your choice. For me I appreciate the looks and feel of Royal Enfield's and don't care if it is a little slower and stops marginally slower, because to me Royal Enfield's have heart and make me feel happy when I ride them not like a toaster.

Successfully the worst service you will experience in most of the RE service center. Its not which you buy, its about how you feel after buying it. Think reality before you buy. Dont buy from heart buy it from mind. RE service centre gave me all time worst experience.

Liked your video also its contents. am a bit confused what to buy RE TB X or Dominar or Apache RR310 but one thing all RE bikes over come is after 10 years of riding we get same feeling as we ride for the new one. This condition could not be matched with any indian bikes.

His review is so nice., but one thing I had been riding from a long time and had visited Ladakh and other places N number of times, I rode all bullet models and after 100 kms I started cursing these bike bcoz they lose power upto 70% and feel like a metal junk instead when I just ride ns 200 it was like wow wow and no power lack due to liquid cooling and fan it just was awesome and now when I rode Dominor 400 it was like wow rocket in my hands so it u r looking for long touring bike don’t ever even think of Royal Enfield

Does dominar really give 28-30 as mileage ?? I have been receiving getting the reviews that 20-22 is max, what we can expect from this bike. Fuel efficiency is the only reason, which is putting me in deterrings me from buying dominar.
