Jeff recruits Brains to the outfit, the Thunderbird machines are constructed and Tracy Island is kitted out in this third and final part of the origins story of International Rescue.

This is what the live action Thunderbirds film should have been. Instead of that pile of crap Johnathan Frakes directed. Flying FAB 1 etc. All run by a bunch of kids. At risk of repeating, this Jeff Tracy and origins of Thunderbirds thread had been one of my favourites in the comics in the 90s. Seeing it recreated here and so well makes me nostalgic. Scott's line on "being a real thunder-bird" was etched in my memory from then.

This is a good start at producing an interesting story about the Thunderbirds origins. Good work it just need more detail and technical accuracy such as a more realistic reason for the TB1 initial flight test incident, aircraft in general are not usually in any peril from lightening strikes. So maybe an ECS (Environmental control system) issue on board incapacitated Scott so making it more sense that Brains would be using his remote control system to pilot TB1 home.

I always wondered ever since I first watched thunderbirds 40 yrs ago, how the TB machines were designed and made in the TB timeline now I know, but I have to admit it's kinda surprising that the number of people involved in IR and the TB Machines creation never realized what they had worked on or where they were based when IR went live and started saving people..

Ah yes, this was the chapter I first started with, when I read the comic back in the 90's. Nice to see the ones I missed. On the construction of Tracey Island, I always wondered if they kept a small trusted maintanence crew in some unseen workers complex on site. Because it made more sense to me with the managing and repairing of such a facility then with just the main characters. Then again this being the future, most of it was probably automated.

Thunderbirds takes place in an alternate history where Jeff Tracy was one of the first men on the moon, so they seem to have avoided 911 (but suffered many other nasty terrorist attacks as seen in the show!). I believe it's supposed to be set in the mid 21st Century, but I always felt like it was an alternate version of the 1960s where technology was ahead of it's time. I hope they make a proper, serious Thunderbirds film some day.
