It looks lonely, but there are two electronic sirens just a quarter mile and half mile to the north, and another thunderbolt about a mile east. There also used to be a Sentry just two blocks from this thing. Hopefully some more additions will be added soon.
well yes, but the electronics are dead, and the other thunderbolt might work if the ema guy feels like pushing the button that day. oh and the other thunderbolt east of this is dead. just oklahoma things!!!
@@TheSirenSeeker What the hell are you even talking about? 1. I oversee the Langston system. The electronics will be up soon (simple fix if the university is willing to pay for it). 2. What “other Thunderbolt” are you talking about? Who is this “EMA Guy?” Where did this “if he feels like pressing the button” thing come from? This is all completely news to me, and I’ve been overseeing this system for almost a year and a half. 3. The Thunderbolt a mile directly to the east is alive and well, and tested regularly each month…not sure what you’re on about here.
@@Tigers9596 The "EMA guy" I was referring to was Coyle. I in no way was dragging you or anyone involved with Langston. The "other thunderbolt" is the second one in Coyle, the one on the north side. The "if he feels like it" was a poke at small town Oklahoma siren testing in general, where they tell you "Oh it's tested on X day at Y time" and then you burn gas to get out there and nothing happens - I was thinking of Coyle with that comment, but it can be applied to many small towns (particularly Prague).
@@TheSirenSeeker Ah I understand now. The northern Coyle bolt is dead and will likely be in my arsenal of thunderbolts after I graduate. The gentleman in Coyle who's in the county EM operates that southern siren Coyle and has done a lot to improve the eastern part of the county's emergency response infrastructure. He lets that siren go every time its supposed to be tested.
@@Tigers9596 gotcha. If it’s not bypassed, the time is changed my moving the black dial on top of the agastat. The number on the dial represents seconds, factory is 6.5 seconds. I may be over simplifying things a bit though, so do as you will :)
@@TheSleepyMechanic0524 I appreciate it! I'm going to be quite honest, this siren's set up is the most basic it can possibly be, so it might be that the agastat is already bypassed.
Still no. I had a crew come out and work on the siren, though. We figured out the problem and should be an easy fix, but personally, I'd be ready to reinstall it or replace it if I had the money.
