From 1989, a Video Tribute by WCBS TV New York on the 10th Anniversary of Thurman Munson's Death. With Werner Wolf. Video can also be viewed at www.thedeadballera.com
That was a horrible Thursday afternoon on August 2, 1979 when I heard the news of Munson's death. I will never forget him. He will always be the Yankees Captain. No one comes close. RIP Thurman
Thank you for posting this, had the Sunday plan from 86 to 89 with my dad (I was 8-11 yo) and remember seeing this played between innings every game. Never a dry eye in the house. Been looking for this for a long time, wish that they would play it again. Obviously I never saw Thurman play I was 9 months old when he died but man was this tribute touching, can not get through it without crying. August 2nd was and is a day of mourning for all Yankee fans, God speed Captain.
Wish I had been thumbs up number 15, instead of 13. My all time favorite player. I was 14 when he passed. My heart still aches when I think of him. He was Mr. Clutch to me. Best gamer...EVER!
I loved watching him as a Kid.My Brother and I used to tell everybody he was our Cousin.I cried the day he died.I just wished I could have met him.Heck I would be happy just meeting his Children.I loved your Dad Guys.He truly was a Hero of Mine.I seriously cried the day he died.I couldn't believe it when it happened. He was one of the best to ever put on a set of cleats and walk onto the field.
Loved Thurman Munson.Everybody always asks if we are related.I have to tell them no.But I wish we were.I wished I could have met him before he passed.Id even be happy With meeting his Kids.Im gonna go to his Grave this Summer if it's the last thing I do.I have wanted to for so long.Im not in the best health anymore and wanna do it before I can't get out there
