Well I know what I was doing 43 years ago today then, I was at the first day of the 5th Ashes test at Old Trafford. Disappointingly Ian Botham was out first ball after his heroics earlier in the series.
A lot of programmes were made “as live” in the 70’s/80’s as it was really difficult to edit video tape. So how could they make 2 min promo and not be able to easily edit 30 min programmes ?
